ALL EDACS is 9600 BPS.... Thats how its set up... But when it comes to the digital part.. Knowing the baud rate won't help you one bit... Its the way that Provoice is set up that is a HIGHLY gaurded secret. Thus the reason you won't see a PV scanner..... Same with VSELP for Motorola.. Its proprietory.

SCAT is of course single chan... AKA one freq.... LTR can be done the same way.... OHHH 4800.. OH oops thats "Narrow" EDACS???... I haven't got any experience with that..... All I have ever seen is "Wide"..... 90% of all EDACS systems are "wide"...... And of course the "Networked" EDACS is akin to Motorola Smartzone....

I've been working on the Biloxi LCNs a bit today and found the control channel for Biloxi - 01 which was not a frequncy listed in the database, but I'm certain it's the Biloxi tower CC.

This is the LCNs I've determined for Biloxi -01 from listening for the last 4 hours.

01 = 866.3250
02 = 867.1250
03 = 867.4750 Control Channel
04 = 867.7250
05 = 868.3375
06 = 868.7125
07 = 866.4750
08 = 867.0750
09 = 868.1500
10 = 868.8875

If anyone else has any input that would be great. I've been hearing gulfport and pass christian FD traffic off and on while I've been trying to get the LCN right. I've been having to use provoice transmissions to figure out the sequence but I'm fairly certain it's in the right order. I'll submit changes for the DB once I've confirmed that I'm getting talkgroup activity on it.

@@edit@@

The LCN is still not right. I'm missing part of the traffic from time to time and I can't quite pin down the LCN. Too much damn provoice transmissions.

found it: 867.1875 Now the fun part- is it LCN 13, or LCN 18?????

OK I am going to insert it as LCN 13.. nexus you can tell me if it works,.. if not I can reverse it .

On the site for the 18 channel Gulfport site, I have seen that the LCN's are not in order. I made another bank of the same site with LCN 13 swicthed with LCN 18. Will post whether that solves it.
Every now and then my radio tries to jump to a frequncy when there is a transmission and it doesnt catch, so I am guessing this is why. (Have the same prob when up at MSU lol).

Don't use Site 002.

The main site for harrison county is site 201 "Confirmed LCNs" that's the group to use...

Site 002 and 201 are the except 201 has the complete and correct LCN. Actually 002, 003, 004, 005, 006 all should be removed because they're not being used.

From my monitoring, site 201 is the West Tower and site 001 is the East Tower. BUT the LCN for 001 isn't correct on the DB. I'm still trying to figure it out.. So far this is what I have for site 001. I am not 100% sure on the placement of 867.4750 because it hasn't come back up yet as a CTL but it was a CTL last week (prior to me getting this pro-95) the pro-95 says that 868.3375 is CTL-04. This list is not complete, or fully correct. I'm still missing some of the conversation part of the time. But its more correct than what is on the DB right now. Maybe you can help out by scanning it and trying to figure out the missing part of the LCN.

01 = 866.3250
02 = 867.1250
03 = 867.7250
04 = 868.3375 ctl-04
05 = 867.4750 ctl-??
06 = 868.7125
07 = 866.4750
08 = 867.0750
09 = 868.1500
10 = 868.8875

Biloxi site LCN "confirmed"

I finally got the LCN for the Biloxi tower... I submitted a change for the BD. But well since this thread is already here I might as well post it too... This sure took me long enough...

01. 866.3250
02. 867.1250
03. 867.7250
04. 868.3375 (CC)
05. 868.7125
06. 866.4750
07. 867.0750
08. 867.4750 (CC)
09. 868.1500
10. 868.8875

Also found a mystery talkgroup DEC is 582. Have only heard a couple of words on it a few times. Hopefully will find out more later on. the AFS for that is 04-086. ###EDIT### A couple of hours later now and I just heard some traffic on talkgroup 0582. It was law enforcement in nature. A male voice calling "Biloxi" on the talkgroup was making a traffic stop on Popps Ferry Rd (which is in biloxi) and ran a tag. I haven't heard anything else since that initial call, and I never heard "Biloxi" respond back to him on that talkgroup..

There are only 2 law enforcement agencies here where the base is called "Biloxi" and that would be Biloxi Police or Troop K MHP. So not sure yet but it could be a Patch to MHP's Car-to-Base frequency. More listening will have to happen to discover it's true nature.

Was listening last night and heard a new talkgroup id come up. It was DEC - 0611. It sounded law enforcement in nature. It sounded like someone was giving others directions on how to manueuver around a house or building, and giving execute commands, as if it was an undercover operation.

0611

also I've been hearing unknown comms on 0582 still. Not sure what's going on. One thing I would mention, these were one sided conversations. I would constantly hear the same person coming up on air giving a direction and no reply.

Now I've heard law enforcement traffic on DEC 0578. Someone was talking of a traffic violation. So far everything has been very brief.

WOW! You folks have done an awesome job of figuring out the Biloxi system. I travel there frequently, and its always been frustrating to just be able to get bits and pieces of the conversations.

Will the new BCD396T receive the Biloxi FD digital voice?

Thanks for the comment. I had to end up buying a PRO95 just so I could finally get Biloxi's tower figured out. Everything on the database now is uptodate and accurate. If you're down along the coast like hwy 90 from gulfport all the way into jackson county the biloxi tower is the strongest signal. the gulfport one works the best if you're in the north part of the county.

To answer your question, NO... NO SCANNER past, present, and future will ever be able to scan PROVOICE. MA/COM seems to be keeping the provoice code under tight control and so scanner manufactures don't have permission to make a scanner capable.

It would seem that EVERYTHING in BILOXI is all PROVOICE. Fire, Police, City services etc. I have not heard one single thing related to biloxi on the harrison county trs. That's bad news for me. I'm a resident in biloxi and I've been listening to the police here for 13 years. Now it irks me to see them running somewhere and having no idea what's going on.

The BCD396T is an APCO25 capable scanner. It will convert motorola digital but not edacs digital. The 396T is perfect for listening to Jackson County (next door). My next purchase is going to be a 396T simply because Jackson County is APCO25 and Keesler AFB is too. MHP is expected to go APCO25 in the future. So the 396T is a wise investment for the future of scanning.
