I don't know why there's no updated data on Lethbridge. Their trunk system has been changed dramatically from what was there before. The Motorola system is gone, as we know well, and the EDACS system has been expanded significantly (doubled in frequency count).

Here's what I found while running Unitrunker today:

Frequencies, in LCN order from 01 to 10 inclusive, with extra notes/details:

01 - 866.1000 - rotating control - digital voice traffic
02 - 866.6000 - digital voice traffic
03 - 867.1000 - rotating control - digital voice traffic
04 - 867.6000 - digital voice traffic
05 - 868.1000 - digital voice traffic
06 - 867.8000 - analog voice traffic
07 - 868.3000 - analog voice traffic
08 - 868.5500 - analog voice traffic
09 - 868.7500 - analog voice traffic
10 - 868.9500 - analog voice traffic

Digital talkgroups (ProVoice modulation - unable to determine users), noted in decimal format:

273, 274, 277, 281, 289, 529, 530, 531, 532, 534, 785

Analog talkgroups, noted in decimal format, and identified where possible:

1041 - Buses
1042 - School buses
1043 -
1044 - Handi-Bus
1057 -
1058 -
1059 -
1060 -
1061 - Roads (Sweeping)
1062 -
1063 -
1065 -
1073 -
1074 -
1075 - Backhoe operations
1076 -
1078 -

I would be comfortable saying all the 1060-> groups are city public works. One of them was doing some kind of crane ops but I didn't look at the scanner quick enough to figure it out.

Back when I was working as an Alberta admin, I put the ProVoice talkgroups in the database, obviously without any names/tags. Since then, another admin deleted them. So I'm not submitting them, or anything else, to the database ever again. If someone else wants to take it upon themselves to submit the data, or use it as they see fit personally, suit yourself.

Attached is a copy of my Unitrunker file. It should be able to import just fine in UT 1.0.0.10.

I also found one 800MHz frequency doing either P25 audio or MotoTRBO. I picked it up while doing a search for the new EDACS frequencies, and the search on the scanner is configured for analog only, so all I heard was the "braap" noise. I'm pretty sure it was P25, but by the time I put it in the scanner under P25 search, there were no more transmissions. The frequency was 866.475.

Enjoy!

Lethbridge Area stuff

Hi Jay I was glad I printed out your original information that was deleted. I used to be in Lethbridge quite often but not anymore. Next time I go I will take my Etrunker set up as well as some other equiptment. Do you know if ESK is activated on this system?

Hi,

Not sure if ESK is active or not. Both my 396XT and my PSR-500 with each's latest firmware chugged along happily without any problems, as did Unitrunker. The system was expanded within the last year (migrated all the public works users off the old Motorola Smartnet system onto this), so there's a chance it has been upgraded to the latest EDACS technology.

Happy Holidays!

No ESK in Lethbridge at this time. All kinds of rumours of ESK coming soon just about every Edacs system in Canada after VPD announced Edacs PV is now monitorable a month or so ago.

I see a new fire talk group in the Lethbridge City data base. Is 786 Fire Tac 2 encrypted? I ask because police 785 is. I know Fire and police are on Provoice and have a different talk group numbering system.

I was staying down there for work a year ago, and 866.4750 is indeed P25 and is apparently corrections. I have it named as "LCC OPS" and racking my brains out just now on how I arrived at that programming, it is there in the DB :D.
