i know acadian does use mdt's in their ambulances so that could be why you only hear one side sometimes. on a side note i can't believe harrison county has not upgraded to p25 yet because edacs is such an outdated system.
You misunderstood me. While monitoring their talkgroup on Jackson County and Harrison County, some of the ambulance's traffic which comes over Jackson County isn't coming through Harrison. But all of the dispatch's transmissions comes over both at the same time. I realize they have MDT's they complain about getting kicked out of them all the time.

ahh ok i gotcha. it could be a simulcast where only the dispatch goes over both but the field units only go over whatever system they are currently on. that would be my only guess.

Dispatch is multicast to all systems. The mobiles reply on whatever system they are affiliated to at the time. If there was a patch in place you would hear it on both.

I think it's a patch because I'm talking about two different type of systems. Their service area is in Jackson County so they use the Jackson County Motorola Type II on analog. But they started showing up on Harrison County's system which is EDACS Provoice. Most of the time I'll hear the transmission come across both systems at the same time, except some of the units talking on Jackson county aren't coming through on Harrison's system.
