Hi there my name is RYAN and I was wondering if I can have help finding some frequencies for the following talk group id numbers. I’m unaware of what the frequency would be for the talk group.
They are from the Philadelphia area police departments.

Thank you
Ryan.
That is a trunked system, you listen to the site control channel from the database @Railbender post a link to. When you program in the site you will then also select those TGs.

What kind of scanner do you have and what software are you using?

Welcome to the RR forums. Read up on how trunked radio systems work

Once you have a grasp on it, program in the Zone 2 simulcast. This is where Philly Police & Fire/EMS traffic is carried. The Zone 1 simulcast carries other city services. Only mode "D" talkgroups on the system can be monitored. Mode "DE" talkgroups are fully encrypted and cannot be monitored by any scanner. Highly recommended to scan using a Uniden SDS100 or SDS200 as simulcast distortion will be a factor scanning with anything else

Hi thank you for the reply I’m using a Motorola xtl 2500 7/800 MHz mobile radio with the Motorola RVN4186AX Astro 25 XTS / XTL Series CPS Programming Software

Simulcast zone 1 (site 3) is the primary system for fire and other city agencies. Simulcast zone 2 (site 4) is the primary system for the police department.

It is my understanding that if the Zone 2 system is completely filled with traffic -- and a PPD unit initiates an additional request, it will be routed to a Zone 1 channel.

The only possible way to monitor with a Motorola radio is using NAS, which is not a trivial programming process. In order to do any programming of a trunking system, a system key is required.

It is not possible to merely sit on a talk group and receive any audio without affiliation. It is part of the P25 standard.

Notwithstanding all the above, there is a definite limit on the number of talk groups that can be programmed into a scan list. Also, once you exceed five or six tgs in the scan list on this busy system, you will miss a large amount of traffic.

As many others have stated so many times in similar posts, you will do better with a scanner -- it must be LSM capable -- such as an SDS. Another great option is the Unication G series "pager".

Just to be clear here, you run the risk of ending up in jail and/or paying big fines if you program your radio wrong. Given that you couldn't seem to find the frequencies you needed even though they would have been on the same page where the talkgroup list was, you may want to rethink playing with an XTL and trying to program this system. But, then again, go for it. YOLO, right?

Oh boy. As others have said. Just stop. You have no idea of what you are doing.
Sell the XTL and buy a scanner or Unication pager.

PhillyFireFeed sells programmed radios. Email them, they might program your radio for a fee. I got rid of my radios going on 2 years ago when I got my unication g4. Unication is so simple to program.

Unications also receive the system very well. I use mine whenever I am in the city and sometimes from out in the burbs, too.

It's very small to carry around, it's simple to program compared to other radios, plus it has bluetooth. Last night I programmed camden county fire and Gloucester county fire. It took me like 15 mins to program both.

I have seen the Unication pager in use. Sound is very good. You may not get the extreme volume that an APX offers, but range seems very close to the APX portable. The Unication will also allow for manual encryption keyloading -- no extra tools, just a program add on. It is -- without question -- the way to monitor trunked systems.

When you're looking at these P25 pages, how do you know whether to listen to the Zone 1 or Zone 2 systems in order to pick up police/fire bands? I have a similar issue on other cities like city of Houston on the TxWARN system. Thanks.

PPD and some PFD (N, S Fire, EMS) are on zone 2.
PFD and some PPD( J, T, M) are on Zone 1 along with the rest of the city services including Airport. The reason for it, if something happens to either zone, certain talkgroups are still transmitted.
