I didn't want to start a another "Hum" thread, but this reported "hum" problem in the SDS200;
Is that a low level 'whine' that sounds exactly like microprocessor noise that is NOT affected by a volume setting I hear with an external speaker?
The hold features on the SDS scanners works good for me.
This has been covered, You already can..I wish that when you hold on Department, you can use the knob to scroll through Departments like when you hold a Channel.

SDS100/SDS200: - Scrolling to department
This is in relation to my sds100: I know that pressing the "dept" softkey will pause on that department and during that 2 seconds I can twist the scroll knob to cycle through all the different departments. My question is how do I then hold on that department? Currently after that 2 second...forums.radioreference.com
Read again, real closely, and a bit further. The function is there. I assure you it will work if done correctly.. I've tried it myself just to make sure I'm not blowing smoke..Allow me to clarify once again. When you are holding on a Channel, you don’t have to press channel again to scroll through a channel. You just use the knob to scroll. This isn’t a feature when you are holding on a Department. If you use the knob, it changes the scan orientation (?) going up or down.
Thank you for referencing the thread that I brought this up, too. I clarified in that post with an example.
Okay thanks I'll look in the folder in Sentinel see if it can changed.Only in notepad by editing the file manually, I believe ARC536 gives you that ability. Dunno about Proscan, probably does as well.
I went to sentinel and did that it worked for rename the system type. I did this followingYou'll have to find the correct hpd file to edit the 'system type' field, the f_list.cfg file tells you which FL is in which *.hpd file. You will need to close and reopen Sentinel after editing and saving the changes to the file in order for the change to be viewed in the software.
Separate SDS 200 Wish list;
Dedicated Hold & Scan keys (similar to the 996P2), not hidden or combined with other functions. The two most uded functions on a scanner (at least based on my 45-50 years of using more than one).
Perhaps you can help me out with a BCT15X and 'un-protecting' a system. the 2/9 reset thing doesn't do it.Last evening I started to look for threads that had pending questions/issues. It became quickly apparent this was a massive task that could take weeks to complete, so I am asking for some help to identify threads that have pending questions/issues. For now, I would like to focus on issues such as basic functionality of Uniden scanners (firmware update issues and major bugs), and would like to avoid (for now) service issues.
Either links to these threads or posts explaining the core issue would be appreciated. I will continue to look for these threads on my own.
The Uniden TWIKI is currently being updated. I believe the BC125AT TWIKI is complete and I am working on updates to the others - currently waiting for info from the engineers for other models. The BC_VUP software has been updated to make certain the latest versions of firmware are available, but questions on that are also welcome. There were issues with the BC125AT which I believe are now resolved (new factory models had firmware versions newer than BC_VUP allowed to be installed, and at least one user made his scanner unusable by installing an old version of firmware - solution: Update to the latest now if you have that issue.)
I appreciate anyone who can help identify these threads with issues that are not resolved.
This should helpPerhaps you can help me out with a BCT15X and 'un-protecting' a system. the 2/9 reset thing doesn't do it.
