Which system do you have it set on?
I use Monroe East since I am in Brighton. If you are on the Westside, Monroe West is probaly best. Monroe East tends to have most TGs other than some FD local TGs in the far west. Monroe East usually has Ontario Law and Fire Dispatch TGs active. Monroe South may have some additional Ontario actvity but miss some low activity Monroe TGs. RPD should be good on both East and West at all times.

What are you setting up? I don't understand what "P25-TX/2" is.
In any event, the system is Motorola (actually Harris) P25 Phase II and should be programed with the current RRDB info with whatever software you use.

System type
These are the choices:
P25
P25 X2-TDMS
P25 One Frequency
Motorola
MotorolaTRBO Trunk
DMR One Frequency
NXON Trunk
NCDN One Frequency
EDRCS
Motorola P25 Phase I&II, X2-TDMA,
mixed a little of each ?
You can only pick one, so do I pick P25 Trunk or P25 X2-TDMA?

Consider using OpenMHz. There's an amazing soul who has a scanner set up in the area, and it receives from the entirety of the P25 simulcast. This link goes directly to scanning RPD frequencies only, and you can go back to listen to earlier calls. You can also get an app on your phone, conveniently called OpenMHz. Just go to "Monroe and Ontario Counties, New York P25 Digital Trunk System".

If you really want to listen in your area, the best thing to do is, get a Unication G4.
Yes, it's a pager, but it scans these 700mhz/800Mhz trunked P25 systems and it works better than any of the scanners out there. The price of the pager will probably cost $600-$700+ depending on where you are going to buy it from.

The Uniden SDS is going to suit him just fine.
