Could anyone be of help setting up ProScan display. I have a BCD436HP and running the paid version of ProScan on my HP laptop (works fine). I would like to stream it to my iPad but what I’m understanding I need a line in on my sound card that I don’t have, only a earphone jack. I don’t care so much for the audio but would like the virtual display if possible. I want something small and portable. I’ve read where some are using Microsoft Surface. Trying to setup the cheapest way I can. Appreciate any comments.

Use the Web Server feature. That way, you can use a browser on your mobile device.
To get audio, you will need a USB audio adapter like this SABRENT USB External Stereo Sound Adapter

I have tried to set it up with the Web Server but couldn’t get it to work, mainly because I don’t know what I’m doing. Ha. I didn’t know if the sound had to be hooked up to. Like I said I don’t care about the sound just would like the virtual display streamed to my iPad from ProScan. I would appreciate anyone that could help setting up the web server if it will work in my application.

I’m trying again but can’t figure out why I’m not getting the url prompt, nowhere. I ordered the Sabrent USB sound adapter that Bob suggested and should be here today. Is not having this why I’m not getting the url promp?

The url audio input will only be available if the scanner type is set to BCD536HP or SDS200. The BCD436HP that you are trying to connect doesn't have the ability to connect to your LAN, so audio through a LAN url isn't an option for that scanner.

When you connect to your BCD436HP with an audio cable into the Sabrent USB sound adapter (pink colored port), you should see an audio input choice similar to this:

Ok I’ll wait till later this afternoon when it gets here to try again to connect to my iPad and hopefully this will let me setup the virtual display on it.

This is what I get when I hit start.

You're trying to start the web server in the secure (HTTPS) mode without valid Web Server Certificates. Change this setting to Unsecure (HTTP), or get the certificates by following the instructions in the ProScan manual under "Steps To obtain a Let's Encrypt certificate."

Be sure you can access the web page on your iPad through your local WiFi first. Once you can confirm that everything is functioning properly locally, and you want to access the web page when you're away from home, then you need to setup port forwarding in your router.

Not sure I understand (Be sure you can access the web page on your iPad through your local WiFi first.) but I have it working. I got the sound adapter and have it working, just have some lag I’ll see if I can figure that out. Seems like I read something to that effect. Will the (unsecure (HTTP) cause any problems? I want to thank fxdscon and Bob for the help you offered. I would never have gotten this far without your help.

If you can connect the ipad to the local network ip address shown in the webserver and its working, then yes, you would need to create a port forward rule to allow devices from outside your home to be able to connect.
