You put question marks after that first sentence. Did you mean that to be a statement and the question marks mean you are puzzled? Or did you mean to say "I can write(add) selected systems, but not the configuration."

If it is a question, I have no idea how to answer it.

If it is a statement, then it is possible you have used an "illegal" character in your scanner startup message. Or, it could be something I haven't thought of, yet, but please clarify the above (and post what you are putting in for a startup message).

I have had an error when writing, what I found is when I entered a name or tgid I had copied and pasted into the form it was in italic, it got to 98%. I down loaded several times until I found the italic in the form. At the spot your error comes up watch what is downloading, the line before the error is the area you should start looking, should be the next line that has the problem, too many letters in the name will also cause the error. I use the USDA loader and think it works great.

I must have had an illegal character!! It works great now, thanks for all the help everyone!! I have the most current firmware update and understand what to do!! Thanks again everyone that helped!!!

If UASD tries to send illegal characters to a scanner, it is a UASD bug. It should tell the user exactly what the problem is.

Same deal with the firmware update programs - if you pass them a bad a bad firmware file (not unzipped, whatever), the updater says "unsupported model" or somesuch.

C'mon, Uniden code monkeys, this isn't rocket surgery...
