A properly prepared Sandisk 32gb sd card will work.

And you can place the card directly in pc running Sentinel (or other programming software) to program the scanner, without need to get scanner into mass storage mode. Then put card back in scanner.

Thanks for the advice I appreciate it but it doesn't work that way either still getting the dreaded take out the batteries for 1 minute error message I'm pretty much at a loss now cuz apparently I'm probably the only one having this problem according to what people are telling me nobody else has had this problem unless they're just not telling the truth

You really need to use some punctuation and line breaks. Very hard to follow what your are trying to communicate.

Does the original SD card work? Do you get the message about battery/power with original?

goldwing24:

To me it sounds like the carrier for the SD card will not let the card "stay" in the scanner properly.

My recommendation would be sent it in for repair.

This sounds to me like this user doesn't understand SD card formatting, and that the default format a card comes as is NOT the format the HP-2 can use! Most new SD cards are formatted as "exFAT", and need to be reformatted as "FAT32", or the HP-2 won't function. When you format an SD card in Windows, the format utility has a drop-down menu for the type of format, usually saying either "default" or "exFAT". Click on it, and select "FAT32", and then click OK. In Sentinel, you then need to click on "Erase card data", then "Write to Home Patrol".

Remember, the scanner cannot read a fresh SD card by default, BECAUSE of the format, and it needs a fresh write of its file directory in order to function, once properly formatted!

OT quick question... Are you using speech to text software or other aid to write your posts? No problem if you are, just wondering.

Thanks

Yes, at the time cost me $68.00 plus 18.00 shipping to get it there.
Actually I was asking about goldwing24, as that might explain the punctuation and run on sentence issues.

Thanks
Joel

Will I see that well have been reading and now I see that the SDS 100 and sds200 also have the SD Carriage area error so you cannot remove the SD card otherwise you left with an unusable unit just like the Uniden home Patrol two you've got to leave that card in the second you try to remove it it fails every time that is a fact

No, it's not a fact. Your assertions are absolute nonsense.

Well it's not nonsense I did call tech tech support at unit den and they indeed it made it to having an SD Carriage error message on their 100s 200s and they're home patrols 1 and 2 and you have to send it in for a SD card Carriage replacement so it's that's the fact thanks a lot for nothing out there you guys
