You got a message from FedEx with their name all over it. (you will).

What are you going to complain about then?

You get a notification from FedEx if you sign up for that service.

I correctly pointed out that the shipping notification from Uniden can be improved. When we ship something, we always tell the customer what carrier is handling it - Information and clarity is good business practice.

The interesting thing is why you've appointed yourself as the complaint police, so I guess I'll "complain" about you. ;)

FedEx Smartpost means they ship it to the post office. The USPS will make final delivery to your mailbox.

Got the ship notification for the battery on Wednesday. Battery arrived this morning. Installed and charging right now. Of course, I'm only 30 miles or so from the shipping location, so time was not a factor.

Hallelujah!!!! Could this finally mean the end of the whining, fist pounding and complaining?

No, because we shouldn't have to have a deformed scanner just to get an average amount of time out of a battery pack.

Surely batteries with higher amperage and such could have been sourced that would have fit within the initial model.

And the original battery worked just fine so maybe they should have charged you for the bigger one and continued selling it as an accessory..

I suspect that if they could have found a higher capacity battery that was the same size as the original, they would have used it. It would have saved them the expense of making a mold for the larger battery cover and supplying the covers to customers.

HOORAY" New battery has been shipped

Your order number BATXXXXX has shipped.

When a tracking number has been provided, please note that we have assigned this tracking number before giving the package to the carrier. If your package does not show up on the carriers website immediately, we may still be in the process of sending them the information. Please check the carriers website periodically for updated information.

Thank you for ordering from Uniden Online!

Ughh....After getting through all the unnecessary, non value added comments from the failed comedian crowd I wanted to say that I got the battery shipped fedex email also and am glad it’s shipping out! It’s great to see us early adopters getting a second battery for free; thanks Uniden!

My original battery is doing ok at about 5 hours of continuous run time on my busy simulcasting system. It will be interesting to see how long this upgraded battery runs for.

Thanks for sharing OP!

That's because it's not the average scanner.... The SDS100 uses about 4x the power that the 436 uses.

Got my email on Wednesday the 14th and my battery arrived here in Tennessee today.

Edit:
It did come with the new, larger cover and I have to say that it makes the scanner feel more solid. Having more to hold on to in your hand and the larger base makes it much harder to tip over when it is standing up too.

All this over a battery....
I would only get half this excited if I receive a coupon in the mail for a free pound of bacon.

My battery was scheduled to arrive Monday but now says Wednesday probably due to the storm.

Nah! Now, Fedex or the USPS will become the target of grief when the battery doesn't arrive 3 minutes after your first shipping notification. "This is taking forever!" or "Why has my battery only traveled 342,649,091 millimeters since yesterday?" or "My battery has been stuck in Funkwater for the past two days."
