Hello,

Mine is due November 26th, but I noticed the package got from Fort Worth to Southwest Virginia in about 31 hours. That is slightly over half the distance.

I think the Thanksgiving holidays are factored into the estimate since it was shipped on Thursday and ground shipping usually takes around a week. I would not be surprised if it shows up Wednesday or Friday, but not disappointed if it shows up a week from Monday.

I just wanted to clarify, I only poke fun, because this is the tavern. If getting the larger battery is important to you, then I am happy you received it. Carry on, and thank you for making this the best radio site in the world.

An imaginary tale . LOL

So i received noticed my battery was shipped.
However it will not be here until the day after thanksgiving.

Which means I will have to cancel my plans and will not
be able to attend thanksgiving dinner.

And since it is due to arrive on friday
I will not be able to go shopping for black friday sales.

Which means I will not have any gifts to give for the
christmas holidays.

At least I will be able to hang my battery in a sock over the
fireplace.
Where unfortunately the battery will catch fire due to my negligence.

Which means christmas will be ruined.

Which means I will not be invited anywhere
for new years eve.

Which means new years eve will be ruined.

It's all in good fun.
Sometimes people take things to seriously .

We only have to decide which is sadder?

Those who take the time to post about the status/reception of their batteries.

OR

Those who take the time to post, only to troll the ones who post about the reception of their batteries...

All in a forum clearly labeled that it contains content about said batteries.

Seems like an easy choice to me. :(

Surely batteries with higher amperage and such could have been sourced that would have fit within the initial model.

Yes, I'm sure they could have sourced that battery, in fact, they probably did, but found that the cost was prohibitive when compared to what they went with. They went with the option that most likely allowed them to provide the power necessary and even with the cost of the batteries and molds to the early adopters, keep the radio profitable. They are a business, after all.

Received a text message from USPS last night that a label was created. Checked in with Fed Ex and they have handed off the package to USPS for delivery (Very common here). USPS text this morning notified me that the package is expected to be delivered 11-19-18.

How did you receive a text from USPS if fedex had the package?

Go to the respective carrier and sign up. Fed Ex frequently "hands off" packages to USPS for the last leg of the delivery here. I see this with smaller packages (Per the shipping info, it's 0.7 lbs) and since USPS delivers more frequently, it works well for me. Once Fed Ex handed it off to USPS, I received a text message of a shipping label being created last night by USPS. This morning I received the "scheduled" delivery update of 11-19-18.

**I just checked the tracking number via USPS and it arrived at my local post office at 1101 AM on 11-17-18. It will be here here on 11-19-18***

5 business days from shipping to arrival...very impressed.

I got a push message on my cell phone at 3:30 this afternoon, from Fedex, letting me know they have my battery, and it is on it's way. It's expected 11/23.

Funny. Now the tracking says the package has arrived in Phoenix, 11/17, then departed heading to Glendale, and expected delivery is now 11/26. Service must be exceptionally slow from Phoenix to Glendale to need to add 3 days delivery time. 2 days from Texas to Phoenix, and 9 days from Phoenix to Glendale. USPS must really suck, lol.

USPS First Class parcel or Priority Mail is 2-3 days anywhere in the US. It's more inconvenient for shippers, so it's not used as often by companies that are serviced by commercial common carrier routes. But it's price competitive with Sure Post, and cheaper than FedEx or regular UPS service.

I’m probably 5hrs from shipping location here in Texas, shipped the 14th, and it’s been sitting in Houston for 2 days, I’m like 2 hours from there. Taking longer than usual it seems but that’s ok for now

Hello,

Seeing where a package goes is like watching sausages being made. I was surprised to see my package make progress from VA to CT so far this weekend. Usually progress stops until late Sunday night/early Monday morning. It might be different for SmartPost since USPS delivers packages over the weekend. I even had USPS packages delivered on Sunday.

I also seen packages sit for 24 hours at a somewhat nearby location. I suspect the package missed a connection to the place handling delivery.

My scheduled delivery is Nov 26th, so it will be interesting to see if the package arrives sooner.
