Oh wow my bad..... I stumble on this when I did a HURON county search.
Norwalk PD has went ENC
Time to run for county commissioner and defund the radio system![]()
willard never was only bellevue pd is in the clear for the whole county systemAre the Bellevue and Willard channels still in the clear?
sounds like ems has made the switch and went to all digital today new TG #25775new starting today willard fire and ems dispatched by the pd on tg #25789
i have not checked vhf analog but it sounds to me like the old radio's are being patched into the new system
700 units would be New LondonAre you confident of that? 7xx units, 705 and 701 I think it was. Are 7xx Greenwich? I wouldn't know since I"ve never monitored them.
And if anybody reading this thread does know the typiccal unit numbers in use by all the various law enforcement, let me know so that I can add it to the Huron County main wiki. Right now there is just EMS information in the wiki (the county wiki, not the trunked system wiki)

Actually encryption is decided by the EMA director. He's making all police encrypted fire and EMS will not be encrypted.Defunding the radio system won't do you any good; they'll just move to MARCS and still be encrypted. Decisions like encryption are made at the agency level, not the radio system level.

What county? My county is expected to hire the Huron County 911 coordinator as our new 911 director. I was hoping to get someone that would reconsider turning off E. We have been without a 911 director for 3 years.
That's what I would think, but it was his grant and his radios.Seems like it should be up to individual agencies....
Sadly, many EMA directors have small appendage complexes
