Anyone have any idea what they pay to go full encryption? I think the New London chief told me there was a charge for this.
Assuming they are using L3Harris subscribers the cost is anywhere between $ 0.01 for single key DES or AES up to roughly $ 520 for multikey AES/DES, exact pricing varies by contract and radio model.
There's probably some labor costs from the local shop for feature installation, key loading and reprogramming of existing units on top of the radio option cost.

I am having trouble hearing much of anything in Huron County on the P25 system. I get VHF stuff from there no problem. This is what my SDS200 list looks like. I do not see anything encrypted. I do not use location hence only the two Huron county towers. But not sure what the Huron County...
