Thanks, any idea what the SOS is?

Sent from my LG-Q710AL using Tapatalk

After doing some research it apparently refers to "Special Operations":

I1xx - Criminal Interdiction Team (CIT)
I2xx - Motor units
I3xx - Collision Reconstruction Unit (Recon)
I4xx - Aviation
I5xx - HAZMAT

Listening to NC AST600 which is from my area in western nc and includes units from my agency on VWPOOL 2. Looking like they are trapped in that area for a little while.

VIPER TG 51942, also not in the database, but falls in the State EOC / USAR range. Didn't catch any RIDs but I assume it's a Cache Radio being that reference was made to Indiana Boat Team 1 and were to go next.

51942 NCEMUSAR6, created for this event, most likely using cache radios on this TG.

Check Viper P25 Radio IDs wiki page, link in earlier post, for list of other TGs.

Here's some new traffic for me that I am noting as I am going through my recording files from today:

*National Guard 2 (TG 52028) was quite active
*NC Dept. Agriculture and Consumers SVCS TG 1 (TG 51608) - Mentioned that this TG will be monitored "as long as the EOC is open"
*Statewide Events Golf 2 (TG 51980) - Unknown traffic (UID 1197659)

(And of course, still tons of traffic on the statewide call and event channels noted earlier.)

Most of the NG/Army SAR Helos have changed TGs. They were using NCHARTOPS 52010 they are now utilizing NCEMAIROPS1 (being called Air 1) 51995

Coast Guard remains on 52006, in the SAR radios it has been renamed to NCEMUSCG (was NCHARTKD3)

Lots of units on standby in Garner NC, including the federal OEM Comms van.

NC Forest Service is hosting the staging area for national guard and SAR units. Did see them with viper radios but they weren't in the mood to talk to anyone.

SAR freqs

sorry to post this so late but i think on Saturday, possibly fri evening, (i can find out for sure if needed) before the storms first bands had hit central NC i heard 230.175 mention something about SAR radio check, which would work out right for NCNG

at the same time period i rx'd 126.1 and 242.4 with definite voice comms but couldn't make out anything but considering the timing i would say it is all associated given past history. very odd thing is this was received in central nc with a RS800 inside the car so i dunno what that means but thought i would mention it.

also there is a nasa bird up above.

also there is a nasa bird up above.

There is also a NOAA B300C aircraft circling N68RF, two CBP P3 aircraft N145CS and N480SK, doing overhead for NG/CG helos and operating on 123.025, and finally an AF C130 88-2101 coming in to make another supply drop.

Air to Air for multiple helos announced as 123.1

Also, heard Swift Water Team on Alpha 1 (51955) reporting active shooter, multiple LE units responded, plate number given to EOC/LE. SHP was working it on Troop A- Dist 5 (52140)

hey thanks for the updates, i saw the c-130 and didn't even occur to me it would be a supply drop. i suppose it should cause a UH60 that is from outta state (based on what i can google up) just dropped into KVUJ to "pick up a package at the FBO" which i was thinking was kinda interesting cause i haven't heard something like that before.

thanks for mentioning the air-to-air as well. its a stretch, distance wise, for me but i am gonna try 123.1 just for kicks.

i haven't seen N480SK yet but i noticed that N145CS is BLOCKED on flightradar24 which always amuses me when i can quickly figure that out, being the super sleuth i am.

i just reread your post. active shooter reported by the Swift Water Team??? ummmmmm howsa bout keeping us updated on what you hear bout that. that is a bit odd. like a large bit.

Thanks for the freqs, as well, I got one hit on 230.175, broken and had to turn squelch down but did hear it.

I'm using ADS-B Exchange for this as I was hoping to see the CG/NG helos, but I don't see them until they get closer to Raleigh and then sometimes they are too low.

Shooter not found, but the vehicle they believe they had was, no one hurt,

Tg # 52243 active in storm ops not in data base
I've also heard 52244, 52245, 52246, & 52248 but they've all been encrypted. Heard them setting them up and testing before the storm.

No clue what they are.

I am just wondering if anyone heard comms on the analog National Interop freqs such as 155.160 or 155.475?
