or, if you are like me, and suffer from "wall Wart" overabundance, just run the pcr100 from your 12volt power supply---

Tracking number received! (I bought one when he had 'em for $65, free shipping)

Same here. My tracking shows it to have been received at my post office at 6:15 this morning - Haven't seen it at my house yet though - but I know they are close!

Well, one of mine arrived. I had ordered two of them the same day, half an hour apart. I got one of them. It's definitely worth the $65 bones. I think I'll register TrunkPCR because it's a really nice program from what I've seen so far.

Not sure where to go from here - I have two different transaction IDs from Paypal, and both of them list the same tracking #. So either (a) the guy only sent one of the units because he was confused since i ordered two same day, (b) the guy sent two units and USPS only delivered one, (c) the other one for some reason or another is still sitting down the post office, (d) somebody yanked one package out of my mailbox and left the other [highly unlikely].

Unfortunately it doesn't look like USPS tracking provides information on the # of packages sent in a shipment. I had one USPS tracking number and it just says the product was delivered.

So I emailed the guy and figure he'll get back to me in the morning. Never had something lost in transit so not sure if I need to query the guy about it, or USPS, or both.

But - the PCR-100 that I got is in perfect shape and fired right up!

hahaha. I see I'm a little late on this one. Well, if anyone bought more than one of these receivers, and would like to sell one, I'd definitely be interested. Just send me a PM.

What software is the best to use with these radios? Will be using the radio for general scanning but may do some trunk scanning.

These things can do digital (and decryption) since the processing is on the computer and not the scanner, correct? What program supports this?

This may start to slow sales some considering the market is becoming saturated and the price is continuing to rise.
Yeah ... looks like it brought it to a halt.

Does anyone know where exactly where these radios are coming from?

Somewhere I read there was a broadcast radio marketing verification service that used these radios. Either the company went out of business or changed their verification model (internet based?). Either way - the equipment became surplus.

If the company served multiple large cities in the US ... there may be more to come.

The radios were packed 8 deep in a 19" rack mounted configuration (common DC power supply) to monitor (and probably record) mutliple FM (and perhaps AM) broadcast stations. At one point you could buy the whole rack mounted assembly with radios and power supply. Ebay seller dishman appears to be disassembling the racks and selling the bare radios.

Based upon conversations with him, i could hypothesize that this is why they are sold in spurts - He's often out of town (possibly dismantling at various different locations?) and when he gets back to Pittsburgh he ships. Purely speculation... and doesn't matter anyway, we have some toys to play with :)
