Got a good signal in area of state line on turnpike. But I still believe it's in the beginning stages.

I have a logger running and have captured one hit on 6-21. How do you know that talk-group is "south police"?

Because there are a few of us that are in this group that --ARE-- System Administrators on the network and use a software product from Motorola called ZoneWatch where we can see the activity on the ENTIRE system --AND-- saw a talk group tagged as "South Police" go thru on Zone Watch for a Lawrence County user on a Lawrence County Tower. . . . . . . . . .

Just my opinion and YMMV, no warranty expressed or implied.

Admins feel free to chime in. I can vouch that emt1301 is one of the folks that is at the same level as I am on ICORRS.

Sound like a pretty cool privilege! As a field user and enthusiast I have been trying to learn all I can about these systems. Thought i was missing something. Thanks for the help!

So i am getting 154.3925 p25 data and Lnk onLawrence county . Now, i see the signal strength go from full scale down to almost nothing. Is the system in use yet? On control channel only mode, it just says p25 system.

Only someone from Lawrence County would be able to answer that question. All I can say is that it's online, but I haven't noticed much traffic over the past few days on the system monitor while I've been at work. My guess is that they're conducting testing prior to officially cutting over. That's the process we followed in Somerset. Without knowing their timetable, it could be anywhere from a week or two to a few months until they're actually using it.

I was receiving coverage testing at the end of May on talk groups 1501 & 1503. I understand that phase is complete. This past week I have received a few test transmissions on 1703.

I understand units will begin to move over to the new system sometime in July. I believe most if not all field user equipment is installed and most are using the new equipment programmed for the existing conventional system until cut-over. I do not know exactly when or how the cut-over will take place.

Jeff. Without an antenna and a significant tower. I find it very unlikely you will pull in signals from New castle area.

I have an outside antenna. I can pick up staley triconnex system from new castle area, with no problem, sometimes even on the ducky. I am getting data and LCN on 154.3925 but, it comes in good one time and very weak another. Perhaps they are not done with the system? Maybe it is not up at full power yet?

It looks like law enforcement may have begun to use the radios in Lawrence County. There has been a lot of activity on the law talkgroups in the last two days or so.

I didn't mean the police were on Triconnex. I was referring to ICORRS. In the last two hours I've been at work, I've seen activity on at least three different law enforcement talkgroups for Lawrence County.

As well as a lot of packet data transfers. Which means they're either using MDTs through the radio system, or they're using data features on the APX radios (such as text messaging)

Not you the other guy lol. Yeah they stated on the website police will be encrypted. MDTs are well.. Obvious with tech nowadays and fire and EMS are the main monitorable thing now really. I have noticed even in central PA (very rural) more so than Lawrance that MDT cover half the calls. So really unless there is a way to decode off of P25 Phase 2 i think its a lost cause. Which is sad i admit.

I wasn't saying the pd was on triconnex. I was responding to the post above mine. Where it was said I wouldn't be able to pick up the new castle area.

FYI, if you haven't figured this out yet, the Lawrence Co "site" is a simulcast site, with multiple transmitters in the county transmitting on the same set of frequencies. You can expect to experience the same kind of issues monitoring the Lawrence Co site [using a scanner] as you can any other simulcast P25 site [using a scanner]. You may get a strong signal, but you may be getting a strong signal from multiple towers in the simulcast and your scanner simply doesn't have the guts to deal with it properly.

I'm currently monitoring the Lawrence Co site from Carroll Co, Ohio, albeit with difficulties inherent with it being a simulcast setup.

Specifically 1517 and above. Looks like some new services are active on the system. Or maybe somebody already knew that. I don't feel like reading through the thread.
