On 9/16/08 an IED was found near the Mosteller Parking Garage in West Chester at about 0700 hours. Witnesses who saw the suspect leaving the device called police. It was disarmed by public safety personnel. The West Chester Police Chief described it as "an extremely dangerous device." It contained a pipe bomb and a container of liquid which the Chief did not identify. This incident occurred at 0700; the Fire Police, Fire, and EMS personnel who responded were just wrapping up and returning to station when I heard about it around 1700 hrs on my way home yesterday. As I live just outside of West Chester I take this sort of incident much more personally! Anyone with information should call the West Chester PD at 610-696-2700.
