I'll post some speculative sites in 448's wiki as soon as I create the wiki entry.

The Google spreadsheet and map that I had previously created for the 264 system is now shared with the 448 system. Reference the same spreadsheet and map regardless of which system you are interested in. As of right now the Google Map should be up to date (including speculations), but the spreadsheet needs some work.

Do you need any more information for this system? I am in range of the Harrisburg site, which has an active control channel. So far I haven't heard any traffic though.

Do you have the capability to grab the system/network ID, Site ID, RAN, active frequency, and the LCN associated with the active frequency as well as the neighbor list? Harrisburg might be part of the 448 system (this thread) or might be part of the 264 system.

What kind of information do you have?

Please forgive me as I am not as familiar with DSD or NXDN as I should be but I think this is all the info I have.

The system is 448
site 8

Neighbor list is L448-7, L448-11, and L448-17. All CC of 1

Active Freq is 463.775
I believe the LCN is 703

Hopefully this helps! Let me know if there is anything else I can get!

Can you post screenshots? If not, don't worry about it. But next to the neighbor list where you see L448-7, L448-11 and L448-17, there are LCNs on each of those lines that align with each of the neighbors. Please provide that as well.

L448-8 neighbor: Site L448-7; CC= ?
L448-8 neighbor: Site L448-11; CC= ?
L448-8 neighbor: Site L448-17; CC= ?

If you are saying that each of those neighbor sites are listing a CC of 1, I'd find it odd but not unbelievable -- because somebody else recently shared a screenshot where one of the neighbors listed a CC of 1. I don't believe it's legitimate though, meaning we probably can't trust it to be true for the neighbor LCN.

And you are definitely in the Harrisburg area (i.e. confident that this is coming from Harrisburg)? I ask this because there are five sites licensed with 463.775. Just want to make sure you are confident it's Harrisburg.

The two sites licensed with 463.775 in the Harrisburg vicinity are:

Harrisburg (Dauphin) - Atop Blue Mtn, 6.5 mi NE of Harrisburg
Cornwall (Lancaster) - Furnace Hills / Cornwall Lookout Tower

And you'll want to make sure you have a decent signal, and that if you are using FMP24.exe or FMPP.exe or FMPA.exe, that in the FMP window you hit "B" and adjust the bandwidth to 7.6.

FYI -- for not being familiar with DSD, you did a pretty good job. Are you using an inside antenna or an external antenna?

Hi MTindor,

I have posted a screenshot of the screen I believe you are interested in. Please let me know if this isn't the screen and what screen I should be sending (Again new to DSD :)).

I am from Eastern Cumberland county and am confident I am seeing the site in question.

Thanks. You've given us everything you could. Unfortunately there is just no way to know for certain if that is Harrisburg or Cornwall until you let it sit on that control channel long enough for activity to occur. (probably during weekdays) Then, you can watch in the channel monitor window and see what other LCNs show up besides the LCN associated with 463.775 (703 LCN).

When the site is active, the DSD+ Channel Activity window will show LCN 703 as the CC and it'll show other LCNs as voice calls occur. If you can get two or three LCNs for the system we will know for sure, and at that point I could even tell you what to edit in your files so that you could actually trunktrack the site with DSDPlus. Only downside is that you have to let it sit and gather that information, since many of these systems aren't very busy and you could wait a long time for voice activity to occur.

Of course, if you can and are willing to monitor the site during some daylight hours between M-F (when it is most likely to be active), you'll want to go to the Control menu and select CC Monitor (1 of 2) -- UNLESS you are monitoring with SDRSharp and not FMP*. If you are using SDR#, you can't trunktrack anyway.

Once we can nail down positively the site location and some LCNs, it's then ready to be added to the DB.

If you truly are extremely confident that you are copying the Harrisburg site, and if you are using a dongle/Airspy/RSP with FMP* (and not using SDRsharp), then you can trunktrack this system by adding some lines to the DSDPlus.Networks, DSDPlus.SItes and DSDPlus.Frequencies files (just edit them with notepad or your favorite text editor)

DSDPlus.Networks
----------------
NEXEDGE96,448,"Industrial Electronics (448)"

DSDPlus.Sites
-------------
NEXEDGE96,448,8,"Harrisburg"

DSDPlus.Frequencies
-------------------
NEXEDGE96,448,8,569,462.100,467.100,1
NEXEDGE96,448,8,519,461.475,466.475,2
NEXEDGE96,448,8,703,463.775,468.775,3
NEXEDGE96,448,8,798,464.9625,469.9625,4

BTW, everyone does their DSDPlus.frequencies file a little different. If the site is Harrisburg, that will work fine just how I've pasted it. But somebody is likely to reply to this post and say "you can use a 0 in place of the 466/467/468/469 freqs. And that's true. But if you follow what I've posted you'll be able to trunktrack assuming you are using FMP*.

So, assuming you're running FMP* and the site is Harrisburg, if you put that info in the files and then go to Control --> Combined CC/VC Monitor, it will trunktrack the site. When a call comes in, DSDplus will direct itself to the proper frequency where the voice call is.

If that all works for you and you are seeing traffic and hearing traffic, then you know you're listening to Harrisburg. At that point let us know so that it can be added to the DB. Of course, it is possible that not all LCNs (frequencies) are active. But once you start trunktracking during a busy time, you'll know because you'll see it switching to different LCNs in the DSD+ Channel Activity window.

I am interested in the CC=1 for the neighbors of site 8 he copied and the CC=1 I copied from site 11 --

In the past site 11 showed site 5 CC as 731, that was about a year ago using whatever version of DSDPlus Fastlane was out at the time, maybe a bug was introduced in later versions? --

I never gave a thought to it maybe being a DSDPlus bug. Worth investigating though. Can you record some raw audio (about 15 seconds) from the CC of Site 11 and send it to dsdplusfastlane@gmail.com (with an explanation of why you are sending it) or to my Gmail account?

I just figured that maybe the system maintainers have started purposefully listing the neighbors with a CC=1 to throw us off. Or maybe it's some indication that a site has no IP/microwave connection to the other sites at the time. For instance, Site 11 listed Site 5 with a CC=731 back when and now lists CC=1. Maybe it means that Site 11 isn't actually talking to Site 5 right now (no direct connection) and thus reports CC=1. And maybe Site 8 is totally isolated from the rest of the system at present time and thus lists all of its neighbors as CC=1. That was my thought.

Danke. Might as well rule out the possibility that you mentioned. And I think I do recall recent Notes.txt or DSDPlus.txt mentioning updates to NXDN with more messages / more AVL message support. Of course that might have been a few versions ago. Certainly doesn't hurt to rule it out though!

FYI - We know there is a site 8 (and one of its neighbors is site 7).

Site 8 is either Harrisburg or Cornwall

Site 7 will likely be one of the following (in order of closeness to Site 8):
* Harrisburg (Dauphin)
* Cornwall (Lancaster)
* Chulsky (Northumberland)
* Minersville (Schuykill)
* Reading (Berks)
* Oxford (Chester)
* Jim Thorpe (Carbon)
* Belleville (Mifflin)

FYI a construction notification was just filed for Oxford on 10/11/2022 indicating buildout on 10/1/2022

Hello!

MTindor,

Sorry I think I missed part of your message a few threads ago. The antenna one of those indoor antennas that come with the cheap SDR dongles which is currently in the middle of my office. So it's range should be pretty limited. And being the Harrisburg is much closer than Lancaster I would think that I would only be able to see Harrisburg (But I guess anything is possible).

I was running this on a Raspberry Pi over SoapySDR to stream to a windows PC and doing the virtual cable technique to get information to DSD. This morning I spent moving the dongle to the Windows pc to see if I could get the trunktracking function to work in DSD, which I was able to do after a while. So far, I am not seeing any voice activity though, just a bunch of radio registrations for talk group 65.

Rgr that. Can always be hopeful lol. I was wrong in saying Oxford had the 10/2022 construction notification. Oxford had a construction notification in 2018.

m

And Oxford only has two freqs. So probably not going to be online anytime soon unless they get more freqs. It was Cornwall that looks ready to go.
