While mobile around Burlington last week, I also noticed garbled audio. I didn't drop the control channel however.
My guess is the P2 doesn't handle multi-path and it's receiver doesn't know how to handle signals arriving at very slightly different times. And as known, the P2 is a poor performer for simulcast systems too.

Are there any other resources for looking up ISICS talk group numbers other than the RadioReference database? I’ve done lots of searching and can’t find anything.

I am new to ISICS as I was not interested until Des Moines county and Burlington law enforcement started using it a few weeks ago. I have my BCD996P2 set to ID Search using the Beaverdale frequencies to see what all I can hear and am finding lots of TGIDs that are not listed. I never hear enough traffic to figure out the service or location.

I’m just looking for any helpful hints, web sites, or discussion forums that are devoted to identifying and sharing TG numbers heard but not listed. Thanks

Have you checked unidentified talkgroups wiki? If not listed there feel free to add them along with descriptive info, UIDs and county (if known)

Thanks, I’ll add that to my scanner related bookmarks. I didn’t see much of interest on there though. I just heard another new unlisted TG number about 10 minutes ago. I hear 2 or 3 new unlisted ones per week. There seems to be a lot more stuff on ISICS than most people know about and that is not documented.

I hear everything from stakeouts to discussions on what to have for lunch. Some seem to be one sided where the other person must be on another TG, I don’t know. One web site I found listed groups of numbers and what services they are assigned to but some of the IDs I have heard don’t even fall within those number ranges. I’m having fun seeking out all that is out there but having little luck identifying what I’m hearing.

It takes someone in that area to log them and figure out what they are. Having a dongle that can decode the UIDs helps immensely in what those TGIDs actually are being used for. I was camping down there this weekend and forgot my laptop, I was anticipating getting those recorded for the area. I get a pretty good signal for ISICS - LINN/JOHNSON; ISICS - MALCOM; ISICS - BLACK HAWK; ISICS - BUCHANAN AND ISICS - JONES but they don't really transmit anything from that neck of the woods unless it is a patch.

Post the TGs your finding and maybe someone can help you out.

I need to organize a little as I have a bunch of paper notes with numbers scribbled on them. Here are some that I hear regularly that are not listed:

9123
9362
26721
26723
26727
34301
37535

I suspect that those in the 267xx series are used by Des Moines county sheriff dept.
37535 is one that has very brief conversations that I can't figure out what is going on

This morning 6/10 at 0950x hearing comms on TG3205 on the Scott/Muscatine Site.
This seems the same mentioned in the wiki for unknown TGs. While they said "This is Drill".
Considering the news lately about QCNPS I wonder if it is related.

Wiki copy/paste
"3205 - Talkgroup 3205 seems to be some sort of Emergency Management agency. Noted 6 RID's on 7-12-22 starting at 1000 hours, discussing radiation measurements around US 30 and US 67 along the river, and reporting them to Stockton (They actually used Alpha type geographic points but alluded to both highways). RID's were 18040 to 18085. TG was open. Also noted on 09-07-23. Again noted on 02-27-24. FEMA was mentioned several times. All monitored on Scott/Muscatine site."

at 1009 RID 18040 was noted as RAD Base communicating with RED Team (RID 82xxxxx)
at 1013 RID 82xxxxx was noted as BLUE Team
GREEN Team was noted too, RID 82xxxxx

I don't specifically have 18040 in my rid database, but it is in the range of Homeland Security

Came across this on the ISICS website. Supposedly they are using ISICS already. But I don't see anything listed here for some. View attachment 185443
I get ISICS emails and a month or so back it had mentioned that multiple Coops were coming on board. They probably haven't converted yet. I have noticed Pella and Corn Belt lately and have submitted those to RR.

May I ask what your settings are for your scanner? As in P25 threshold. I did change mine to ID search because I was using ID scan. I am also using a BCD996 and I can't hear anything from DMCO.
I can hear DMCO sheriff 26720 on my home patrol 2 but nothing on BPD 26610
External antennas high in the air with good coax
I can hear Mercer Co IL and Henry Co IA all day long. I don't know what I am doing wrong regarding DMCO. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have never messed with the threshold setting on mine so it is whatever is default.

BPD is 26601 and not 26610 as you listed but you should still get it if using ID Search.

You are using the Beaverdale freqs right? I've been writing down TGIDS as I hear and identify them and it seems I have not heard Mercer county on mine so wondering what the difference is.

Also make sure you have not locked out any IDs you want to hear. I've been locking out IDs as I identify them but there was one I wanted back and couldn't figure out to unlock a certain ID. I had to search the manual and online to figure that one out!
