The Wiki on Radioreference hasn't been updated since the days of UHF DMR channels in the City of Muscatine days. Anyone have a updated list of Unit radio IDs? I knew 747 was an Ambulance but other that 900s were MPD that was it. Till now Muscatine County was hard to hear in Davenport.

"What program is that? I thought I was familiar with the decode programs but never saw a screenshot like that. I use Unitrunker or P25Trunk."

This is OP25, a Linux program. The previous screen shot is output through a browser, the basic program is displayed in a terminal screen as seen below.

I'm seeing talkgroup 5074 and trying to decipher what it may be.

Anyone have a clue what these radio aliases might be???? I assume "TRICO" is Tri-County???

RID 5700000 is a link from the SARA comm-centers from Iowa, Johnson, Linn and Scott Counties. This only shows up on ISICS Region 6 Call 61.
RID 5200006 is the link from the same counties to the Highway Helper center.

Noticed today that Des Moines County Law dispatch is being simulcast on ISICS talk group 26720. I've only noticed this on the Beaverdale site so far. Someone told me that Des Moines County was moving all public safety to ISICS. I wonder if they're adding some more sites in the county?

Hello new to scanners here, I've got a BCD996P2 and am in Des Moines County. As yall said we just recently switched, I have everything programmed in but the quality is god awful. I am quick to call it simulcast distortion but there is only 1 tower, so how am I getting simulcast distortion? Or am I just completely misunderstanding how it works?

The BCD996P2 probably won't receive Lee Co which is a simulcast system unless it's right next to a tower in Lee Co. However my $25 RTL-SDR dongle and free SDR Trunk software receives Lee Co. fine. The Uniden SDS100 and SDS200 are supposed to receive simulcast. There are times a Lee Co unit will register on the Sperry ISICS tower (not simulcast), then traffic from that talk group will be heard until on the Sperry tower registration stops.

I have a 996P2 and haven't noticed any distortion with any ISICS transmissions. Des Moines Co is using the ISICS tower near Sperry with cellular LTE backup for their portables. Are you using an external antenna on the 996P2? If not, maybe the distortion is just a weak signal dropping data packets making voice hard to understand?

Des Moines Co has been running a cross-patch between 460.350 and their ISICS talk group and many of the existing Tait radios did not sound very clear over that patch. But as of yesterday, all old UHF Tait radios have been removed from service.

Location is everything. The site for Des Moines County is just off US 61 south of Dodgeville Rd. I’m to far away to verify this is the site but by looking at the site on google street view mapping I believe this is the site. Without knowing your approximate location it is difficult to know if you have line of site to this tower.

17486 US 61
(40.9355838, -91.1674469)

Here are the location to the Lee County simulcast sites.

ISICS Lee County Simulcast
2482 HWY 2 FORT MADISON, IA

902 N MAIN ST DONNELLSON, IA

Here is a link to an RF line of site web site. You put in your location then the location of the tower and antenna height which will tell you if you have line of site to the tower. If you’re blocked by high ground your reception might be poor to non existent on 700/800 frequencies depending on how far you are from the actual transmitter.

I used antenna search web site and the tower on US 61 I mentioned above is licensed to Des Moines County and the State of Iowa.

My P2 is vehicle mounted, and as of right now I have a cheap bigfu glassmount until my hard mount laird setup arrives, I know the antennas part of my issue but I didn't think it was the whole issue.

It's not just you. I have a BCD996P2 with an external antenna and can understand only about 40% of Des Moines County traffic.

I think you'll have better results moving away from a glass mount. Back in the cellular on glass mount days, we had a test meter that when placed on the glass would indicate if the tinting in the glass would reduce the signal transfer.

I would invest in a $10 Bingfu Magnet Mount on Amazon . I have one on my Bronco and when I was in Williamsburg a couple days ago for a track meet I was picking up Lee County on my 996P2. I agree with @WB0VHB back when I used those antennas for Cellular I did not have much luck and lost quite a bit of signal.

No need I already bought a nmo mount and a laird 700-900 Mhz phantom antenna, my cars an ex squad do it already has the hole and easy under roof access so I just gotta wait for it to get here.
