I’m not finding anything but dead ends on Uniden site. Have an HP2 coming, curious if the Extreme upgrade is still an available upgrade or if they have rolled it into HP2 firmware or whatever. Thanks in advanc.

The registration page is up, but anything to do with the Extreme upgrade is dead for me.

You have to register then log in and register your scanner. After that you can select your scanner and purchase the upgrade.

Yes on login, no problem there. Other scanners are registered. HP2 not registered yet, as it not in hand yet. Looking on the support site to see if upgrade is still puchaseable and for what cost, but if I have to register just to get that far I can wait until the device arrives. Just odd to me that they would block access, it makes the site feel broken. Thanks BTW.

The Extreme Upgrade is still available. Once you register your incoming HP-2, then you do the next step of entering your ESN (Electronic Serial Number). At that point, you would see the link to purchase the Extreme Upgrade. (The link to add that upgrade is not accessible until you have done the complete registration, including the ESN.) A quick look on what it includes is in the Wiki. I have that upgrade on both my HP-1 as well as the HP-2. Current cost, I think, is about $50. Again, the link to purchase will not be accessible until after you complete both steps of the registration process.

I had the same question so I contacted Uniden support and they advised they no longer offer it and referred me to scannermaster...

There's a problem with that. The 'upgrade' unlocks the features on the scanner, and is supplied by Uniden. How could ScannerMaster, or any other retailer, add something that Uniden cannot. I expect whoever you contacted at Uniden Support was not familiar with this and gave you a 'get off my phone' response.

Some time ago, way before UPMan's health turned sour too quickly, someone posted about an 'incorrect answer' they got from "Uniden Support". While things may well have changed since then, UPMan's answer was that the 'support line' was handled by a third party company, not by Uniiden employees.

The extreme upgrade is still available at my.uniden.com. If you purchase it from scanner master, that’s where they go to get it, but scanner master will charge you $60 instead of the $50 you will pay at Uniden.

Still comes back to Uniden tho. I didn't call them on the phone, I emailed, and they emailed me back saying to go to scanner master, as they no longer offer it. Matters not to me what others think or whatever, I know what they emailed so that's all I can respond to.

Understood, but that seems like a stupid move on their part. The upgrade is just a license key, so they have no HW to ship or anything like that, it’s a completely automated process on Uniden’s part (I’m guessing, but pretty sure it is).

And ScannerMaster would still need to get the key from Uniden anyway as previously posted.

You may have an email from them, but the information is wrong. Considering that "support" may be provided by a 3rd party vendor.
