No P25 is sort of a deal breaker for me, however I am pleased to see that DMR and NXDN can be decoded out of the box without paying for upgrades. Perfect for monitoring businesses and hospitals in my area that use DMR, and any rail that's using NXDN while of course being able to monitor analog. Plus, I love that it's going to be just as compact as my BC125AT, and has storage for up to 1000 Channels.

Joe,
Unless I skipped right over it without noticing, will the DMR capability allow entry of a slot or talkgroup? I know these are not 'trunking' radios, but I've seen quite a number of smaller towns where they use the same frequency, in DMR mode, for both PD & FD. A lot of them just use a generic (default) talkgroup of "1", but assign PD to, say, Slot 1, & FD to Slot 2.

For the TRX series, which we know does not actually trunk track DMR or NXDN, you can program, in a conventional channel, both the slot & talkgroup on DMR (with, of course, also the color code).
If we could program slot, color code and talkgroup and/or wildcard for each, that would be great!

I'm pretty sure Jonathan said i was a a 500 channel memory for the portable but broschyr says 1000ch.

No, there where no TG configuration possible according to JoeBearcat. I asked if it at least can avoid an annoying TG but no reply during the Youtube video transmission.

How ridiculous ! No P25 trunking ? I think uniden is making a Big mistake here !
Just my opinion

Does it at least shows the TG and TS?

And how does it handles Dual Capacity Direct Mode DMR? The Uniden SDS series and the Whistler TRX series doesn't support this (only the BCDx36/UBCD3600 supports this).

Can it be programmed with ARC125? Because there was a reference to these new scanners on the ARC125 product page.

The lower level (no P25, no trunking, no DMR, No NXDN) scanners must sell well enough to make them worth designing and building.

People need to remember these are not replacement models for these high end scanners but to fill a gap in the mid range.

Personally, for my focus on business users, this is pretty much what I would need.

People are nitpicking over the specs on these new Uniden scanners. When was the last time the competition introduced a new model?

Anyway, many of us prefer the use of multiple scanners running simultaneously to enable the monitoring of varying agencies, systems, or services. A less-featured radio may be perfect for this purpose. Why be forced to buy a Ferrari to make trips to the grocery store?

Yes. It is in beta testing currently. (to clarify, the decoding improvement)
Will the Beta release be made public for those us who are familiar with updating the firmware without using Sentinel? I thought that was a pretty good way to get some feedback from those other than the beta testers prior to public release?

It means you're very, very, very low on the Uniden Totem Pole.
Do you know what that means? It means it is not my decision. I have not even heard an estimated MSRP yet. I imagine it will be determined by the bean counters who - literally- get paid way more than I do.

I asked the same thing earlier in the thread and no reply.

Looking at the flyer posted earlier I see no trunking, so I'm guessing no OFT. So will it let you take advantage of DMR slots and TG's? Or is it all or nothing DMR-wise???

I find it hilarious that there are people saying (repeatedly...) that this will sink Uniden :ROFLMAO: Really? One release will sink them?

Just because YOU don't want the scanner doesn't mean it won't sell to those who DO want it. It's OK to have multiple options.
If anyone watches (or fast forwards like I always do), through the video, it's made clear (more than once), who this scanner is marketed to. It's a simple, basic programmable scanner with a targeted consumer group. It won't be for me, but for all those that complain about the programming complexity, the price of the newer "high-end" scanners, this is for you. If you're a smart consumer, and do your homework, you'll know exactly what you're able to do and NOT do.

I misread his post, thinking he was telling us to continue the discussion there rather than here, thanks for clearing it up.

Didn't think it was censorship, just a misunderstanding.
The censoring/conspiracy thing wasn't directed at you.
