Maybe they are working on and preparing their webpages for when they actually have stock?

Most likely the case, that and the post from jtwalker above must mean that the release is close!

I suspect they were just testing the item page and fxdscon caught it the brief period it was up. Or they created it and accidentally had it on 'publish' instead of keeping it offline at this point.

EDIT: I guess the others were posting the same suspicion while I was typing.

You guys already have the blueprint for the 396, would have it really been that much more to modify it to receive Phase 2/DMR/NXDN?

I missed a lot in this thread but I did see "improve decoding" said a lot. Is that strictly going foward for the new models or is that going to include updates to existing scanners like the 325/436/SDS models? Sorry in advance if it's been said already. I don't have a lot of time to read through just yet.

On a side note, I think you catch a lot of crap on here from some people simply because your predecessor (UPMAN) was just THAT good. Those are some huge shoes to fill. I for one would like to thank you for coming here and telling us all you can about the goings-on at Uniden. Much appreciated
Totally agree. The 396XT and 996XT are the best performing scanners Uniden has ever released. They need to be remastered!

Here we go again. Uniden.com now has the BCD260DN base/mobile scanner available for purchase on their website. It is showing as being "In stock" with a price of $349.99 and that includes FREE shipping. I successfully added one to my shopping cart as a test. Shipping Times in my shopping cart are "US(Contiguous): 3-5 Business Days" and "Canada: 1-3 weeks."

Order one now and be the first kid on your block to actually get one of these in your hands! LOL

Also, they have finally posted the corrected link to the BCD260DN Owner's Manual in English located here. If you missed it in the previous post in this thread, the FREE Uniden Sentinel Software for the BCD160DN and BCD260DN can be downloaded here.

NOTE: I am posting this information at 02:15 AM EST on 02-16-2024. YMMV after I post this.

It's 2/17/2024 and I'm posting this to say the link is down again from Uniden's website, maybe the sell out then take website down, anyways zip scanners, scanner masters and Bear Cat Warehouse all have it for pre-order, so we wait, and see, however its funny every time someone posts a link it disappears on Uniden's website, lol

so anyone have a theory is to wise Uniden keeps removing and then putting it back on then removing it? must be a reason for it.

They are getting ready for the radios to be listed. What is not being told is that no link from Uniden to those pages they were found buy GUESSING WHAT THE LINKS MAY BE. They were never meant to be seen at this point.

Yep. Common sense. Nothing unexpected.

There was no guesswork. You could type in BCD160 or BCD260 into the search bar at Uniden.com and it would take you there.

I'm thinking some "shenanigans" may be going on behind the scenes with Uniden.com and the other Uniden dealers. If you have been following this thread closely, RR member jtwalker posted that JoeBearcat mentioned on The Scanner Guys this past Wednesday, 02-14-2024, that the first batch of the new scanners had passed US Customs and were actually in the country. If that is indeed factual, wouldn't it make sense that Uniden.com would be the very first to receive them? For the new scanners to make their way to Uniden dealers (i.e. Scanner Master, Zip Scanners, CB World, Bearcat Warehouse, etc.) they would first have to arrive at a Uniden distributor and then be sent to the Uniden retail dealers. All of that additional shipping/handling adds time to the delivery process.

Assuming my above premise is correct, Uniden.com first put the BCD160DN handheld for sale on their website on 02-14-2024 and listed it as "In stock" and available for purchase. I actually put one in my shopping cart for a test and it said it would arrive in 3-5 days. That initial “In stock” information was clearly posted in this thread by RR member fxdscon and I'm sure some of the Uniden dealers keep a very close eye on this thread. I'm thinking that a Uniden dealer (or dealers) cried foul and complained to Uniden.com for poaching/stealing their potential customers from them because stock had not yet arrived at the retail dealers. Uniden.com complied by removing the BCD160DN from their website as I'm sure they didn't want to alienate their own dealers. The BCD160DN has not re-appeared since.

Two days later (02-16-2024), Uniden.com does the same exact thing with the BCD260DN base/mobile and shows it as “In stock” and available for purchase. Again I put one in my cart just as a test and was given a 3-5 day delivery time. I posted that information in this RR thread and later that day the sales page for the BCD260DN mysteriously disappears. It has not re-appeared since. Coincidence or did a dealer(s) complain and pressure Uniden.com to remove it until they received their own stock allotment of the new scanners?

I’m thinking that when stock actually arrives at the retail dealers in the very near future, Uniden.com will coincidentally turn on their BCD160DN and BCD260DN web pages again. That’s just my thoughts on the situation FWIW.

Uniden's policy for at least the last 5 or so years has been to prioritize dealers over their own website. I do not see that changing just because a new model is being released.

My vote on this goes to "we're creating new web pages and testing them out".

While that may have certainly been true in the past, especially when UPMan (RIP) was still "in charge" of things, I'm not so sure it is still their policy today.

As an example, on Cyber Monday 2023 Uniden.com publicly advertised and sold the SDS100 handheld on their website for $549.99. That price is $100 below Uniden's own Minimum Advertised Price of $649.99 for the SDS100. So not only did Uniden.com violate their own MAP policy for the SDS100 on Cyber Monday, they also undercut their Uniden retail dealers' pricing by $100. To me, that doesn't sound like a way to "prioritize" your dealers.

OK how about this. Aliens are in control of the Uniden website, and they are playing mind games with all the scanner enthusiasts out there.
Sounds like a well thought out conclusion, given the immediate threat scanner enthusiasts pose to the greater universe!
