What I put on the Kent county MPSCS disclaimer:
" System cutover will be on December 2, 2020. The simulcast cell is scheduled to be fully operational on December 7th, with GRPD Switching over on that date. This will be followed by GRFD switchover on December 14th. Finally, all other Kent County agencies will switch over after January 1, 2021."

I would say also this was from somebody maybe at Kent911 or maybe a radio programmer. Also I have noticed two other talkgroups key up so far but have not heard any voice on them.

so let me ask you this when they switch on the 7th will they run digital and non digital chanells for a certain amount of time and will gr encrypt
I have no idea on how they will actually will start. All I know is that the several of the new Kent County talk groups that have been added to the DB indicate encryption.

If you mean how to identify encrypted talk groups, check the MODE column. Unless I'm mistaken "DE" means the talk group is encrypted.

what i was refering to earlier is that when they decided to go statewide digital years ago and they started the instalation i dont know what county was first but they had a problem with the agencys that chose to encrypt there broadcast and they couldn't get all the towers timing to sync so they were all broadcasting at the same time but the agencys that didnt encrypt had no problems so rather then spending more money to fix the prob they chiose to not encrypt and that was there solution and in the article i read it said most agencies more than likely will not choose to encrypt due to that problem even though they are approved to encrypt so IDK we will see
