I saw the responses on the RICS thread, and didn't want to further being off-topic, but here the new system sounds good (at least D-1 & D-4), but I'm line of sight to Oat Mtn, so simulcast won't be an issue here. I'm confused about D-4, as although labelled "Santa Monica Mtns Disp" the traffic seems to be for companies in the Basin, not surrounding the Mountains themselves.

Is there an LA Co FD Battalion Map available online? I can't find one.

Ditto on the signal reports here. I am also line of sight to Oat Mt.

I agree. "Santa Monica Mountains" really only describes Battalion 5, while D-4 also includes Battalions 1, 3, 13, and 20 (Marina Del Rey, West Hollywood, Ladera Heights, Inglewood, Lynwood, South Gate, Huntington Park, Vernon, Bell Gardens, Commerce, East LA).

D-4 and C-40 thru 46 should be labeled "West County"

D-2 and C-20 thru 25 should be labeled "South County"

While maybe not the most logical, the naming nomenclature is from LACoFD themselves and I noted has been referred to as such on the air already in regards to one of the new "Coastal" command channels.

In regards to signal strength 482.7875 Coastal Dispatch sounds weaker than I would expect, while 482.975 Dispatch Santa Monica Mountains sounds overmodulated at times.

Also noting some traffic continues to be carried on old Blue frequencies as well.

For what it's worth, the LA TICP calls them:

LAC D-1: North County Dispatch
LAC C-10 thru 13: North County Command

LAC D-2: South County Dispatch
LAC C-20 thru 25: South County Command

LAC D-3: East County Dispatch
LAC C-30 thru 37: East County Command

LAC D-4: West County Dispatch
LAC C-40 thru 46: West County Command

LAC D-5: South County Coastal Dispatch
LAC C-50 thru 52: South County Coastal Command

Anyone have any idea when the streaming links will be live for the new LACoFD channels? On Twitterx, they said they’re “upgrading” the equipment for the feeds, since there’s more to broadcast now. I’m salivating but the chef is taking his time…

So is that the command channel showing up on Pulsepoint for structure fires?

I'm a little confused by it because it changes colors like a responding unit would.

I could be wrong but perhaps the "D" & "C" channel differences are that they're regional (i.e. not countywide simulcast)?
In theory - why would you hear D5 outside of the intended South County Coastal area? Yes, I'm sure there are pockets where it reaches far but another example is D1. That's the desert - I wouldn't expect to hear it in Claremont while I can hear D3 there just fine.
Thoughts?

My thought as well. I'm in the West San Fernando Valley and can copy D1, 3, and 4 quite well (5 bars on my 996P2). D2, 5 and Life Guard at a much reduced signal strength (1 or 2 bars on my 996P2). Based on my location, this is something I would expect.

I deployed the new comm plan in several radios and started to actively listen last weekend. I'm getting generally good coverage and reception on all "D" channels from my location in the N/E San Fernando Valley.

Being a long-time scanner user (since the '70's), the new dispatch channels are reminiscent of when County Fire was on VHF and had "Antelope", "LA" and "Valley" channels.

Agreed. The old "Blue" channels were regional too (with a few exceptions like Blue 8 which was countywide), so it's not a new thing.

FWIW, all of the new dispatch and some of the new command channels (C20, C30, etc.) are live on Broadcastify. I do wonder why they didn’t do the other command channels (C21, C31, etc.). 🤷🏼‍♂️
