I am curious if anyone knows of any Lancaster County VHF (preffered) or UHF repeaters for fire/ems dispatch and/or operations. I tried other sites and have been told that none exist with the exception of a few mobile repeaters that are used on units on the west side of the county. I live in Berks county just along the county line and would like to know if any repeaters exist on the north/east side of the county (Rt.568/625 area Brecknock Twp. Berks County)). I found the one on here for the UHF frequency 462.775 but reception is minimal if at all. Just curious if there may be any other "unknown" repeaters that are in the county.

Being a past resident with family there...
I don't believe they exist. A private citizen was re-broadcasting a group of channels on something like 451.2375 for awhile but I don't know if that still exists and if it does it likely does not go too far.

Check the lancasterfire.com website.

The only things I am aware of are low power crossband repeaters in vehicles for departments who are using something other than lowband portables.

It wouldn't do any good to monitor freqs associated with these vehicular repeaters since you're only going to hear them on/near the scene of an incident.

Try 152.780 or 152.250 mhz ..... They are both active...... I have had much better success with the 152.250 and can hear it all over Lancaster County....

Do we know where they are based at. I am just curious as to which one would be better for me to listen too from my location. Also do either of those have p/l's and if they do what are they for tx. and rx.

Tune them both in and see what works best for you. No telling which one is received better by you and your setup.

Let us know...and don't worry about PL until you can copy them.

The frequencies can only be monitored by the general public, there is absolutely no chance that myself or others that know about the frequencies will give out the transmit frequency & PL Tones..... The system is for your listening pleasure, not for your transmitting pleasure!!!

Need some more questions answered? Tonight we will be meeting at the Two Cousins in Manheim on Doe Run Road between 9 & 9:30pm and then will head up to Cornwall Mountain (State Gameland 56) where will hang out, do some HF and program/reprogram radios!!

Call in Frequency is 145.390(-) PL 118.8

http://www.lrts.org

Two are in the Southern end and one is just west of Lancaster.........

Sorry, i didn't mean tx. p/l's just the rx p/l's. But anyways, I tried both of those frequencies and get nothing. Well I lie, I get some static and what sounds to be almost like a paging type of beep or squelch on the 152.295. The other frequency is totally quite.

My Pro 2096 did not like 152.250, so I went to 152.2475 and found a CT code of 203.5. Sound is little weak.

Licensed by?

Maybe they are only transmitting low power since there don't appear to be licenses in the FCC data base for them.

Ya, I checked that also, can you transmit with out a license? Nice to have a repeater.

BTW let me rephrase what I stated above... I don't know who has the receivers up on the air, however after doing some intelligence work as a scanner buff can only verify that they are on the air. I have found the general area where they were located by going on a fox hunt for them...
