I mapped out a system and I would like some confirmation that this could be LAUSD buses?
One school mentioned was located in Gardena and is listed in the LAUSD school district.

NXDN System

152.210 LCN 52 CC
152.200 LCN 49
152.650 LCN 97
152.660 LCN 99

Talkgroups heard are

56000 "Base 2"
56001 "Base 3"
56002 "Base 1"

Last time I noticed (a few weeks ago) LAUSD transportation was still using some of their 800Mhz analog frequencies.

Also your listed frequencies seem a bit odd as NXDN DMR spacing normally uses 6.25 or 12.5 kHz. For example, 152.21 might really be 152.2125.

This is why I'm asking.
Two schools were mentioned while I was monitoring, both come back in the LAUSD. Thinking this could be a private transportation company for special needs students? The channels were quite busy and transmissions were heard up to 7:00pm.
Also no other communications heard on any other TG other than the three I listed.

The frequencies are verified with a SDR on the spectrum analyzer. Both sets are close together, so close I was skeptical myself to the spacing.

These frequencies are not listed on the FCC database, No frequencies even close to these belong to the school district or transportation company to verify a license.

Site comes up as 484-5 (RAN5). I also see a control channel site coming up as 484-6 on another frequency, it's very weak for me to hear.

A second set of eyes on this before I submit for database submission would be helpful.

I am pretty sure the site 5 control frequency is 152.2125. I just monitored 152.2 152.20625 152.2125 152.21875 and 152.225 with signal strength and quality by far the best on 152.2125.

The control data indicates its a NXDN4800 system.

On what frequency did you monitor Site 6 on?

My guess is a contracted company providing services for LAUSD. These are the 3 current companies.

Mission School Transportation
Student Transportation of America
Zum Services Inc

Zum replaced First Student in 2022 and would assume about 80 percent of LAUSD’s outsourced transportation and about one-third of the district’s overall transportation operation.

152.510 so with the shift 152.5125? I have to crank up the gain to hear this one.

@kearthfan101 I agree this is an out sourced company

Did you mean 152.2100?

From La Mirada, I see a control channel at a nice strong -70 dBm on 152.210000 (+/- 50 Hz).

FWIW, there is a control channel about 20 dB weaker at 152.510000 (+/- 50 Hz).

49 is 152.2025.
Scratch that. I don't have any proof (though it's likely).

The only continuous 152 MHz carrier I see above -90 dBm in La Mirada is 152.21000 at about -70 dBm.

The Db is not meant to be used as a scratch pad.

Need a bit more confirmation on actual frequencies involved here, and preferably the school bus company so we can name the system appropriately.

Someone PM suggested the correct frequencies for site 5 are likely the two below based on what they can receive from their location.

152.210
152.650

No idea on a second site (6?)

Also if anyone is able to also narrow down the bus operator name (see reply 6) based on locations, we can start to get this in the Db.

152.650
This is probably 152.6525.

150.8150 through 154.4525 (inclusive) are aligned on 7.5 kHz boundaries (with one possible exception, 151.7575, that may have been a typo somewhere). There have, of course, been exceptions to this, either by accident or intentional, and these part 22 channels are particularly confusing.

To help figure out the bus operator, I don't know if anyone has the means to find LAUSD bus routes.

In listening this AM, I note that route numbers are mentioned by dispatch - for example, 7624, 8340, 8370, 8215, 3534, 3138 etc

A little birdie confirmed what we are hearing is Zum Student Transportation Services.

They operate LA area bases in Downtown, Gardena and Sun Valley. This probably explains the Base 1,2,3 that was reported.

Zum additionally has Southern California bases in Palm Springs, San Bernardino and Santa Barbara, which could be some of the other radio sites in this system.

The system has been built in the Db. For now only included two frequencies 152.210 and 152.660

If anyone can manage to confirm the additional frequencies along with the sites or identify which LA offices Bases 1,2,3 represent, kindly submit.
