Can anyone figure out what TG# 11 is? I know it's a Fire Dept, or EMS, Can't figure it out. Guess I will bring the 97 with me tomorrow.

I think it is the talkgroup that has been bridged to fire two (154.37). Fire one, Mutual and EMS channel 10 have all been bridged to the new system for testing purposes.

Does anyone have the dispatch "knockout" tones for Jefferson County Fire? I'm planning to get a Motorola Minitor pager soon and will need that info.

Maybe I should be a little more specific, I'm just looking for the fire and ems tones for Highview as well as the special teams (METRO HAZMAT, LMUSAR,Swift Water Rescue, ect).Don't need the whole county just my neighborhood dept and the teams so I'll know if something happening in my area or if something big is goin' down.

I would check with the Fire Department for the area that you live. I don't know that they will provide that information but there and the Radio Shop would the only places that would have them. The Dispatch tones that you are looking for are multiple though. The Fire Department gets dispatched on one set of tones, the EMS responders(for some departments) use another set of tones so that the volunteers are not disturbed, the special response teams use yet another.

Good Luck

11 bridged to Fire 2 154.370
13 bridged to EMS Channel 10 462.975
15 bridged to fire mutual aid 154.295
19 system techs working channel

Another talkgroup

Talkgroup 3, has shown up , so far only test counts, as if
checking out a radio setup.

Also as of Sept 5, talkgroup 1 is being used as a coordination
channel for the moving of the New Orleans evac folks. from the
fairgrounds to the airplanes at SDF.

For the arrival of the of the folks from NO, (10 planes) last week
they detailed two normal channels, one, the mutual aid freq, 154.295
and EMS-5 were used. ( not bridged to the new system)

Have not been able to determine if the 00001 talkgroup is bridged
or it they are using new 800 radios.

IMHO:
Not real impressed with the quality of the sound from the PRO-96
on the new Metrosafe system..

TalkGroup 1

As far as I can tell TG1 is being used by Louisville Metro EMA which is the actual agency over MetroSafe. I just turned on the radio at work and heard them. Need to listen to the others.

Sounds like they are starting to move the first group at this time

TG#00001 has been simulcasting something to do with Ky-EMA/EOC and the national guard, I know it's for the power outages, but I am not for sure who it is. any ideas?

It is Louisville Metro EMA, I did not hear any Guard traffic on it today.
However, the 139 MHz National Guard channels are very busy with radio traffic.
I believe I have some input frequencies and it appears they might be simulcasting on two or more frequencies. Need to copy more traffic, but no time this weekend.

They stopped operations as of 5:30pm yesterday(9-18), they were to resume today at 8:00am, but no simulcast on Metrosafe today. I will check out those 139MHz National Guard Channels though.

139.2125
142.6625
139.6625
139.9625
139.0625 (I think this is the input to the 1 below)
139.4625

Some of these are in the database, but off by 25 KHz

:):):):) I'm sooo excited, tomorrow I'm not only going to visit MetroSafe I'm going to get to install some radios in it! :):):):)

The Emergency Coordinator for Jefferson Co. ARES was contacted by MetroSafe and they asked if some of the ARES folks could come down and install the new ham radio equipment in the EOC. Last Friday I talked to the EC who is a friend of mine (it helps to have friends in high places) and he asked me if I wanted to help him do it. I can't wait:)

I'll let ya'll know how it goes.

Hate to bust your bubble, you will probably be in the "new" MetroSafe at 5th and Liberty. That is where we had the Ham equipment when I worked there. It is on the 2nd floor in the EOC right behind Jim's desk. When you look out from that cubicle you will see where they have the EOC setup with the video monitors and desks for large operations such as Thunder and things like that. If you walk out the cubicle to the right past the desks there is a door on the left. Just outside of that door is what they call the mini mics. It is where the dispatchers work the large scale events from.

See if the person taking you there will take you to safes. Those are huge and quite impressive.

Anyway, enjoy.

I don't know if picture taking is allowed, when ARES had thier first meeting back in Jan 07 they took a tour of the new MetroSafe and I didn't get to attend but from what the others tell me photos were not allowed for security reasons. Anyway I don't have a camera and I don't think the EC is going to bring one.

I know I will be in the new MetroSafe building and that's fine with me. I think they have already moved dispatch ops there. I know they were still on Barrett when you left BigDog, BTW how's the new job going?.
