Echo Level ("E") is the most serious - literally dying right now (unconscious, not breathing, no heartbeat).

Alpha Level ("A") is the least serious (Twisted ankle with no other symptoms such as bleeding).

There is also an Omega Level, though it's unlikely these will result in fire dispatch. Calls in this category may or may not result in EMS response, rather consultation with a medical professional. For example, "my child swallowed a penny seems to be okay, but I'm a little worried".

Does anyone know the frequency that the medical helicopters talk to the hospital on when they are on their way in with a patient? Is it digital?

I don't listen to the police side, but the New Albany Fire Department is using the New Albany public safety system which came on line a few months ago.

New Albany Public Safety Trunking System, New Albany, Indiana - Scanner Frequencies

If I remember correctly, you have one of the x36 scanners. I created this as part of a Favorites List in Sentinel. Indiana>Floyed County>New Albany Public Safety.

Also during the railroad bridge fire incident there were communications between Louisville Fire and southern Indiana Fire on the 800 interoperability channels. I can't remember which one however, though it was on a repeater.

Why is it that every time we have a major incident going on like the storms tonight both the online scanners for Jefferson County fire go off-line? Both the PRP and the Okolona ones are now off-line. Earlier today at least the Okolona one was because I was listening to it.

I'm listening to Okolona's right now - seven minutes after your post.

It's very possible a power failure occurred at the fire station where the feed is connected. When the feed computer re-boots, then the feed itself has to be manually re-established. There is a 2:1 chance that the firefighter tasked with keeping the feed going is off duty, or is perhaps busy with responding to the many calls for service that occur during bad weather. So while the firefighter is fixing storm problems, he is unable to fix the feed problem.

Does anyone listen to clarksville in? I'm picking them up on my hp1 on a county frequency and it sounds like county is dispatching. Anyone know if clarksville quit doing their own dispatch?
