Half the current traffic on the system in the clear now the other half is encrypted look for that to swing more secure then not, Also 90% phase 1 now but they have been recently testing phase 2 the system will be mostly phase 2 here soon as they start loading users on ti.

I was around 20 LVMPD officers Tuesday evening while I was helping out with a 'National Night Out' event. All had the Harris radios except for the three K-9 guys, who were carrying XTS-8000s. I spoke with one of them & he was clueless that he had one of the new radio until he pulled it out of his holster & took a look.

Easiest way to spot a new handheld vs the old Harris stuff is the newer ones have antennas probably about 8" long whereas the average Harris radio has an approx. 3" stub.

I also re-confirmed via several different officers that they'd been told to NOT comment on, or at least bad-mouth the Desert Sky system.

Excellent, I have been hearing traffic all night on this TGID 10010 and wanted to make sure it was Admin. I was hearing units from all over the Valley check in as well as others out on events all over the Valley. I was happy to see someone identify this TGID when I searched for it this morning. Thanks for the help.

TG 10009 - was active Tuesday early morning hours. Can anyone help identify this TGID?

Hello Rick, I am using the BCD436HP and it's working great, It also has a discovery mode feature to find new Talk Group ID's. I will tell you how many hits it received from that talk group as well as record the audio traffic and save it to the internal SD card to help with identification.

I talked to several LVMPD Officers this past weekend and they said that the K9 units already have the new Motorola system they were surprised I knew anything about the Radio issues they were having the told it's amazing they have not lost more officers than they have one cop said the new system will be up in 3 weeks

No luck with a 436hp in Nye County

the P25 system sure is clear sounds great


i am using my 536hp and 436hp right now

A friend of mine bought a 436hp and had it programmed for our zip code in Pahrump. Received a few NHP calls but nothing for Nye County sheriff or fire. Tried to program a favorites list with just Nye and Pahrump freqs and still nothing. I know the NCSO is using an old ASTRO 25 setup and that the Uniden BCD396XT and 996XT's receive them fine. Don't know if the RR DB is correct or not. It says NCSO is digital so I guessed it was correct.
Anyway, I travel to LV every weekend and I really want to get a 436HP but I really need it to work in Pahrump along with Vegas. Any suggestions anyone?

Hi off topic a bit but I am also in pahrump and we cannot find the Nye County School bus frequencies anywhere. Anyone have them? I want both receive and transmit with repeater offset. Thanks. PS; I am a driver.
