New firmwares work great, audio is even better even though it was great before.
Uploaded a short video before I got my TG's sorted to show how well it rejects simulcast.
Doing pretty good with the FM demod. If that is the 0x1DB NAC (can't quite read the last digit), I think that is a simulcast system. You could switch to LSM demod and get better performance.
I don't have the Signal Mode in the user manual yet. I'll document really briefly here. When on the Signals Mode display, if you see a signal in the upper left-hand corner that looks like a circle, then you are definitely receiving an FM signal. If you see a star-shape signal in the upper left-hand corner, then you definitely are receiving an LSM (CQPSK) signal. When viewing the signals display, the buttons are mapped as follows:
Joystick up/down: Select gain to change
Joystick left/right: Adjust selected gain
Top left button: Toggle scanning
Top Middle Button: Save gain changes
Top Right Button: Toggle demod mode between FM and LSM.
Joystick up/down: Select gain to change
Joystick left/right: Adjust selected gain

Top Right Button: Toggle demod mode between FM and LSM.
I have no idea how it got back to FM, please school me.
The demodulation mode is stored per [SITE] entry in the configuration. See section 13.6 in the user manual for information on how it is stored in a backup ini file. The DEMOD parameter can have a value of 0 for LSM, or 1 for FM.
When in Signal Mode toggle the top right button to get it back to LSM.
I am there now, thought I read all the new firmware defaults to LSM.
Even on FM no simulcast distortion LSM is perfect from a five tower simulcast site. Need another video? One thing I would like is the busy signal sound when hitting a encrypted feed.
It may be related to bugs in earlier firmware? The firmware release yeterday appears to have fixed the lock-up issue when changing DEMOD mode on a new site. Let me know if you have issues with it going forward.

It's great, no reason to spend $900 dollars on a Uniden SDS when this is better.
Especially since Uniden has done nothing in way of support for 2 years now. No updates, no responses. Todd offers continuous support and updates.
Yes. You could do this. Make sure it is regulated 5V.
