Just had RETRO 11 checking in with ZDC on 281.45 at FL 280. I'm guessing they're headed south. Never caught them on any ZNY freqs. Might have also heard flight of 4 on another freq.

There were 3 BLUEs,
BLUE66 KC-10A 87-0118 305 AMW 2/32 ARS AMC USAF McGuire AFB NJ,
BLUE67 KC-135R 63-8874 22 ARW 344/349/350/384 ARS AMC USAF McConnell AFB KS and BLUE69 KC-135R 60-0350 22 ARW 344/349/350/384 ARS AMC USAF McConnell AFB KS.
They used 294.800 as tanker interplane and switched to Boston (269.300) around 1730Z.
They made extensive use of Controller-Pilot Data Link Communication (CPDLC) with Moncton.
Only 1 radio transmission heard.
At least one of the tankers went to McGuire AFB. Unconfirmed ...but may have been fighters that were replaced by the MAZDA/GOLD flight on March 30th.

They are having a rough time with the turbulence in the area. Diverting 50 miles to the East of the track. On AR20-secondary 349.700. (1937Z)

ETHYL70 (KC-135R, 62-3576) at FL310 appears to be heading towards us for the scheduled AR on AR20-SW. I suspect the receiver may be a REACH C-17 as there have been a few pass by Gander in the past hour. (1330Z)
Confirmed that the receiver is REACH828 (C-17A from 437AW, Charleston, 07-7182). Requested altitude for the refuel is FL160-170...quite a bit lower than usual.

PEACH68 inbound---possibly for AR20-NE

PEACH68 (E-8C 99-0006 GA 461 ACW 12 / 16 ACCS ACC USAF Robins AFB GA ) is heading up the US East coast towards NS. Currently near Rhode Island at FL310. May be the receiver for the scheduled refuel. (1941Z)
ETHYL16 is off the deck from Bangor (1945Z).
Confirmed...they will be at the IP @2010Z..CP @ 2020Z on AR Primary 341.750. (1957Z)

Wow. You're not kidding. Lots of fluid trailing and a reattempt or two. Not very long after they passed, the KC-135 returned at 38,000 feet so they must have gotten it wrapped up eventually.

Pretty sure it was the E-8 suffering the fuel (?) issue. It was originating at the leading edge of the right wing near where it joins the plane, so they thought it might have been leaking from a bad connect I guess. They sounded like it was a pretty good rate of it from what I gathered.
