No doubt everyone has heard of Canada's commitment to NATO regarding the situation in the Ukraine...
"Prime Minister Stephen Harper says Canada will contribute six CF-18 jet fighters to a NATO air-policing mission as a response to the crisis in the Ukraine.
The jets and ground support staff will be based in Poland.
In addition, the military is sending up to 20 staff officers to bolster the Canadian presence at NATO headquarters in Brussels as the alliance organizes a further response.
NATO requested Canadian participation, the prime minister said.The Canadian fighter jets will join warplanes from the United States, Britain, Denmark, Poland, Portugal and Germany, which will be deploying in waves between now and the fall.
Canada is also slated to take part in July in a long-planned, U.S.-led military exercise in Ukraine, known as Rapid Trident 2014, but the government has not been forthcoming about the size and scope of the country’s involvement."

All of this should increase the traffic overhead in the near future.

I had a Vimy flt on 228.900 from my 4/16 log. It was alittle weak and broken. Sounded like they mentioned about heading towards Montreal for refueling. Anyone have any center freqs for the Ottawa area? That airspace might be the edge of my listening range.

GOLD/TREND Flight coming up the US East Coast

GOLD11 (KC-10, 85-0031) GOLD12 (KC-135R, 58-0086) and GOLD21(86-0035, KC-10) are staging near Nantucket awaiting TREND61-66 (Type unknown). I'll let you know if they are expected in the AR20 area. They may head straight out across the pond and bypass us altogether.(Via PP and LiveATC) (0927Z)
343.100 is active at 0946Z
GOLD22 (58-0057, KC-135R) FL270 near New Jersey. 1000Z
Now reporting they are awaiting TREND71-76 (Via LiveATC 1008Z)

There are some supposed aircraft coming back US today with BLUE 71,72 up in Northeast 1815z
GOLD 11,12,21,22 all showing in Spain 1550-1630z


1900z BLUE 72 clearing last A/R with TREND 21 flight coming down coast ZDC 257.700 FL190-200
TREND 21 cleared south to Kingston then unreadable sounded like KMET,maybe was KVAD
Must be A-10's flying that low.
