The search area for the missing sub seems to be outside radar coverage. All I see is a couple of P3s in Nova Scotia and a C-130 heading out that way from Long Island.
The airspace over the Titanic wreck (N4144W04957) is covered by New York Oceanic using HF. Currently using 17946 but conditions are not very good, secondary 13306. I've been monitoring for about an hour and have not heard any SAR traffic yet. (Although from the NE at 1430 EDT San Francisco is coming in stronger than New York on 17946).

Recent updates to the submersible search (including Associated Press 40 minutes ago) all seem to be referring to a Canadian P-8 Poseidon aircraft involved in the effort. So I don't think there's a mix-up over P-3s. Canada announced earlier this year they planned to obtain 16 P-8s. Unless they don't actually have any in service yet?

GOLD-02 KC-46 #20-46072 from Ft Worth NAS to McGuire.. seems to have dragged somebody
to the Northeast.. Assume more F-35 deliveries...

Rgr Frank, Canada doesn't own any P-8A's yet though may be sales deal in the future.
US P-8's could be working out of Canada. but haven't seen any verified tail reports yet..

Was reading article and said that lost sub sure was a homemade type that one sub expert said
he would never venture on that craft.. Not looking good.

AFAIK they have not even officially ordered any yet.

"Ottawa has yet to make a formal decision on its CMMA procurement, either to purchase the P-8 or hold a formal competition. However, Bombardier is now directly calling for such a contest." - FlightGlobal, May 31, 2023
