JEDI11 C-17 just completed a short hop from McGuire to KILG. With the Bidens in the area, I'm assuming it's a drop off/pick up of presidential gear. I had no time to get to one of my preferred stake out spots so I shot what I could from my deck.

Seems a stop at the Grand Canyon AZ here as a couple C-17's earlier into KGCN airport.. AirNav: KGCN - Grand Canyon National Park Airport
Has 9000 foot runway so plenty of room.. Never heard a Mil type there before
and now for something completely different.
RCH-234 C-17 #97-0070 from WV ANG still bouncing around South America from SGAS Paraguay to SPJC Peru today.
Prob have some stories to tell when they get back..

1022- Hearing chat between Potomac (124.55) & a Salty 71 (spelled out). Sounds like Salty 71 might be CG 6542. Just heard Potomac working Coast Guard Rescue, so Salty 71 is someone else. Potomac releases CG 6542, who is now off SAR pattern at 750 ft heading towards Easton.

Looks like we’ll be hearing a new name for a familiar special use area.
Last Friday, the NFDD cancelled R6602A, B and C — “Fort Pickett” special use airspace, effective this October 5. The NFDD pretty much just changed the name of R6602A, B, and C to “FORT BARFOOT” used by the Virginia National Guard.
Monday’s NFDD created BARFOOT 1, 2, and 3 MOAs. 1 is 500AGL to 6 thousand; 2 is 500AGL to 10K; 3 is 4K to 10K feet. All comms are to ZDC on 118.75 and 377.1 and are effective on October 5. Fort BARFOOT is the Blackstone area In the southwest corner of Virginia.
