I plan to be at KMRB to see the exercises (see my post from yesterday), probably on Friday but maybe over the weekend, too. This is one of the fields where it is easy to watch MilAir, provided you're really into C-17s. Eight of them are based there and they occasionally do some wild maneuvers over the field, especially at night and unlighted with the field dark. No night flying likely at these exercises, but the ANG press release promises a variety of aircraft, something ordinarily lacking.
If you go, it's best to park next to the little terminal just across the field from the ANG operation. That puts you close to to the runway, next door to a very nice little restaurant and the rest rooms. Freqs are in AirNav. Local ANG aircraft stay on VHF with the tower and use UHF only with their CP. Some of the visitors may use UHF with the tower, I suspect, just out of habit. My wife and I will be in a red Grand Cherokee with N4TX plates.
