Maryland ANG folks are #1 in mission readiness MC rate for the A-10's among others as well.
Got some smart aviation mechanics..

I am receiving what appears to be data on 292.3. Is that a data channel?
That was the good ole screech and rush sound of encrypted comms between AWACs and and their players. Fortunately the regular aux channels used for a/a were in the clear. I never wrote them all down. Moving from a Milair dud are to a haven makes my head spin with all the overload lol.

mdmonitor - jumping on between work meetings, thanks for these.. I noted on ADS-B we seem to have a lot of heavies up, assuming just mid-week equipment moves/shuffles..

With my current setup (3 handhelds w/RH-77 duckies) I can not hear the ground side. Depending on WX conditions I can hear LangleyTower ground side occasionally. Hopefully within the next month I’ll get my discone setup on my balcony.

No, never........
Since the beginning of aviation (as in the U.S. Civil War with balloons, biplanes in WW1, everything in WW2 and on,.. the collection of information is a collateral function of aircraft.

Even to the point of absurdity , like a jet fighter on final approach to an aircraft carrier radio-ing in that a submarine is surfacing 5 miles behind it.

although not in the report, an aircraft on final approach to the carrier was the first one to see it.

Even in an aviation manual (an old one) states that any aircraft seeing a surfaced submarine in U.S. waters was to report it. (I think it was called Cervis or Servis or some derivation of that)

of course I can't find the reference for it anywhere.

Thanks
Joel
