1830L - Stopped by KACY and happened to catch one of the “Makos” undergoing a Full Afterburner Test while anchored to the ground. Pretty cool!

A bit off topic but in 1980 some friends and I were returning from the Heatwave Festival, a huge concert at the Mosport Park racetrack complex in Ontario. Being totally clueless, after the day-long show we had no hotel planned and couldn't find anything until we got to Niagara Falls. The next day we happened upon Heussler Helicopters, who promised a scenic flight over the falls in what I believe was a Bell 47 - no doors, just the dome. Somehow I got stuck sitting on the outside. We had ascended to where we could see Toronto in the distance when our pilot announced he had flown choppers in Nam and intended to show us what he could do, since we were surely more adventurous than the family types he usually carried. I still have the photograph one of my friends took of me running away from that thing as fast as I could the moment we landed

Man $9.50!!!!! what a deal. Now it starts at $140-180 for a 10-12 min flight.

Always nice when the pilots recognize the spotters

I love the B-57s, especially the RB-57D variant with a service ceiling of 70,000 ft, I always imagined them as a bomber version of a U-2.

Anyone know if they'll be called in again?
Thanks
Joel
