There's been a ton of tankers from MacDill flying over NYC and heading to...Maine I believe if anyone else hasn't noticed. I've seen like 3 or 4 on ADSB so far and it seems there's more taking off. Redeploying to be spared from the hurricane?
Very cool always wanted to see this happen but seems like they always have a CAP when its cloudy and get into the city from jerseyJust managed to get some pics of one of the Nobles preparing to refuel from NICE13.

The ones I heard were using the callsign DREW. MCF Hurricane Evac Flights as of 1740 EDT.There's been a ton of tankers from MacDill flying over NYC and heading to...Maine I believe.
Could be SESEF working with ROUNDTOP. I’m usually just out of range of their HF groundwave, but I might have to start listening in again.Just got back to the hotel in VA Beach. Had the SDR running all day. Much to go through and verify.
Currently I have been listening to ROUNDTOP working SEASEC (? not sure of name) Ron's list shows ROUNDTOP as USS Gettysburg CG64. Many comms and trying message data bursts.
FREEDOM CROSSROADS wkg FREEDOM TOWER
RED HAWK 722 (AE2BD3 167848 MH60S Seahawk) working FREEDOM CROSSROADS with souls on board. FREEDOM CROSSROADS tells RED HAWK 722 his ETR to FATHER is 30 mikes. Coordinates given but not going to post here.
We visually saw RED HAWK 722 head out and pass by one of the destroyers heading out to the carrier.
I may have, I have to review the tons of freqs captured today. Do you know what freq they use at Fort Story? That may help me see if I caught him. We did see HURRICANE 04 buzz the beach, CH-53 Super Stallion. So cool! Thanks for the SESEF info. That may be it. It was hard to understand what they were saying. I don't know the terms for all this Navy stuff.Could be SESEF working with ROUNDTOP. I’m usually just out of range of their HF groundwave, but I might have to start listening in again.
Did you happen to catch COURAGE 610 at Fort Story doing touch & goes in the field there?
Sounds like SESEF, they talk on 274.8 mostly, but I've heard them on other freqs. They test various electronic systems, often testing Crypto and havequick, sometimes sending Mickeys (Havequick TOD). Sorry hrspotter, posted before I saw your reply.Just got back to the hotel in VA Beach. Had the SDR running all day. Much to go through and verify.

Thank you as well. Sounds like SESEF was it! I knew you guys could come through. What you said is exactly what I heard. They were sending data bursts (Mickeys) and talking on 300.125 (Havequick TOD) and I also logged them on 274.8 ROUNDTOP working SESEF. Thank you for the ID's of these freqs and the SESEF. Moody won’t be far behind. I’m sure Tyndall has already began as well. There's been a ton of tankers from MacDill flying over NYC and heading to...Maine I believe if anyone else hasn't noticed. Sure sent those MacDill KC-135's out of the zone to Maine..Guess will be safe up thereThe ones I heard were using the callsign DREW. MCF Hurricane Evac Flights as of 1740 EDT.
Last November they used 328.375 for the field, though that was a special exercise. Not sure if the HSC sqns have any presets for this sort of thing. FWIW the IFG from one of the minesweeping (MH-53) squadrons doesn't show anything for Little Creek or Ft. Story. This time of year some of the units near Dam Neck like to do their helo training, so that may be relevant to the activity there. For multiple Norfolk helos at the same time, 239.45 and 290.6 are East and West helo common on the IFG.I may have, I have to review the tons of freqs captured today. Can you share the IFG for the HM, please? Would love to have a look at it. Have a few of their preset cards, but more details would be great.Last November they used 328.375 for the field, though that was a special exercise. 2046L - COURAGE 21 conducted final T&G at Fort Story LZ. Probably pissing off the campers at the state park - 200 ft at 70ish knots.
