I was getting my kid at the bus stop around 1545 and heard them. No idea at the time who but they were low and loud and I knew it was some sort of fighter. It was cloudy with rain, so no visual. I'm west of TTN.Nice follow up.. Thanks.. Sometimes on Friday weekends some F/18's from Oceana make practice individual weekend
training trips to various local locations for just that.
Some years ago had F/18E land KILG park at Atlantic Aviation on Friday afternoon and pilot was off in a car to see friends and relatives.
They usually return Oceana on Sunday afternoons.. Never hear USAF fighters do this but common Navy training practice to borrow the car
so to speak for temp weekend duty.. Keeps them sharp!
