NOBLE-11,12 switching altitudes and say "What a cluster" Now both going rtb and NOBLE-21,22
will take the Reading CAP. Noble was on ZDC Bay 360.700 coming back East.
Yeah busy morning so far thanks to New Orleans incident. Washington Center just advised SAM46 of 1700 EST departure time.

1305- E-4B, at FL330 heading northeast, working ZDC Cape Charles (120.975). Didn't catch callsign. Turned over Dover and heading west. At 1317 check in w/ZNY Big Flat (133.475) Call is ???-99. Maybe Titan?? At 1328 check in w/ZOB Indian Head (132.125) requesting FL340. Still can't get call clearly.

Ron

Does not sound like Titan but then again I cannot figure out what the callsign is besides 99

Do any of you guys up in MD/PA/WVA triangle area ever hear what freq the Nighthawks use when going to/coming from Camp David? I've seen 375.0 listed but I've never heard it being used.

I checked my logs for the last 4 years and had copied 32 HMX-1 transmissions on 375.0 with 23 of those being on one day, 10/05/2024. 277.175 has been copied a lot more when to/from Camp David.

OT: Overheard NOBLE asking tanker "What no thrust reversers on that aircraft?
Op says "unfortunately no".
They also did away with thrust reversers during the upgraded KC-135 engine program.
Saves weight and mechanical problems and money but you do need longer runways at times.
The KC-46A was not designed for sub par shorter runways though has improved brakes.
Maybe one reason we hear KC-46's on radio saying often they really need to use up more fuel before we can land.

Yeah there is a whole discussion on various other sites about the reason the KC46 does not have thrust reversers. Basically they were not included in the contract to save weight (and money). The Honeywell carbon brake installed on the main gear of the KC46 (and the commerical Boeing 767-300ER) is a very reliable brake. The brakes in combination with the wing devices used to land are more than enough to slow down the aircraft. Each aircraft has one of these mounted with its accompanying main wheel assembly.

Thanks, don't know either why the KC-135R went to Dayton.
The F-16s as FEUD 21 flight arrived at Toledo, landing at runway 25.
WOODN71 is still at CUR, AFAIK.

FWIW, WOODN72 didn’t drag the Falcons on the way down, interesting that they dragged them back.
