This scenario lasted about 2 hours. Numerous bomb runs made. Target was about 2 miles north of the KY/TN state line right about on the Trigg/Christian Co line. Other freqs in use were 300.125/ANTIDOTE(JTAC) and 269.525/KHOP App-Dep. JTAC c/s was TIGER. Scenario supposed to take place again tomorrow/unk time.

That was the 180th FW - MUDDY 11 (2x F-16C). Checked in with BLUE ASH on 240.350 and said they'd be working with HUNTRESS on 228.900 and would monitor Guard. Heard them just before they RTB'd on 138.425. 1 called push 135.575 and 228.900 > ? > 120.475. 2 gave inflight report on U1 338.900; 12 code 1, 11 code 2 for IFF button. Came back up on 120.475 > 128.625 > V4 (134.350?) > V3 118.100. They stayed on 228.900 while working ATC on VHF.

More Toledo Vipers coming down to play - STING 11 (x2) is in Brush Creek, YODER 21 (x4) is in Buckeye. STINGS on 139.625, YODERS on 139.975.

YODER 23 and 24 on AUX 8 (I think) 141.600. 21 and 22 still on 139.975 getting callouts on 240.350.

STINGS and YODERS are heading home at 1610Z. STING 11 calling on V01 143.850; code 1 for GPS...didn't catch 12's code. YODERS 21-23 on V07 139.975, push 290.500 after exiting the MOA. 24 RTB'd early - just contacted ops with an inbound message.

CHARLIE B/C ATCAAs have just been scheduled for tonight; that means there will probably be a tanker around...343.800 is the common boom frequency.

For those interested, looks as though the KHOP / Ft Campbell area will be active with a/a refueling related to exercises going on the next few nights. Note: The FARVA AAR airspace passes over the top of us here in Bowling Green. Thanks to Joe down in Nashville, the AAR frequency noted last night was 247.025. The following NOTAM is from

YODER 21 x3 with BLUE ASH on 240.350 - Blue Air. Airtac 139.975

LOMA 11 x3 with BLUE ASH on 283.800 - Red Air. Airtac 139.625.

STING 11 x1 just departed the airspace direct FFO after a check flight. To DAYTON APPROACH on 269.275.

I am parked about a half-mile from Blue Ash ANGS (the radar facility controlling the MOAs) and recording all comms. I'll transfer it to my computer later on, so if you'd like a copy of the file, PM me. Note: for anyone who has trouble understanding ACM (air combat maneuvering), this is a great way to learn.

YODER 21 RTB at 1502 local, push 290.500 for ZID.

LOMA 11 RTB at 1510 local, push 290.500 for ZID.

Numerous frequencies in use supporting exercises in the FT Campbell/KHOP MOA running through Monday the 14th. Frequencies in use include:
236.0
226.0
364.275
247.025
378.2
337.8
along with the numerous FT Campbell frequencies noted on RR for Kentucky. Several frequencies were both in the clear and encrypted / green. AARs are set up over Bowling Green/FARVA AAR. Refueling altitudes have been real low so we are able to get a pretty good view as they pass overhead except for the cloud cover. Various a/c are being used such as KC135s, C130s, C17s. F16s from the AL ANG c/s PYTHON were used the past few days. PYTHONs even did an approach here in Bowling Green. Activity seems to have concluded for the evening due to weather. There are numerous c/s in use also.

Do you know what units the tankers and transports are from?

Not for certain due to them using various exercise TAC c/s. Scott AFB may have been one provider. The C130s seemed to be Special Ops. The U28 was using the c/s SLAYER from 319SOS. The E3s from the 552 AWACs at Tinker were also used the night before last for C3 platform. AR altitudes over us were around the 9-10k range. I could not say where the C17s were from. The F16s /PYTHON were from the 100FS AL ANG in Montgomery AL.

I'll see if I can dig up some tac/refueling freqs for those units. Did you happen to record any callsigns for the C-17s? I'm betting Charleston; maybe McGuire.

E-3s are usually SENTRY xx for the front-end callsigns (ATC comms).
Back-end callsigns (airspace coordination): CHALICE - 963rd ACS, BANDSAW - 964th ACS, DARKSTAR - 965th ACS, DRAGNET - 966th ACS, THUMPER - 970tt ACS.
GCI controllers tend to use individual callsigns.

By the way...those U-28s are something else. Don't bother trying to track down serial numbers- half of them still operate in civilian colors and registrations. From my Wright-Patterson logs:

Type.....................Callsign.........Serial.......Notes.......................................Date......
PC-12/47 (U-28A)...SLAYER 91...N692BC...picking up A4; to Hurlburt Field...6/5/2009

UMPTON was a call for the C17 and LUNDY for the KC135s. C/S used all seem to be exercise assigned for the most part. They are scheduled to complete this, per notams, tomorrow, the 14th.

Try these for the C-17s...Charleston A/A frequencies:

225.375
234.525
289.175
301.000
314.450
319.400
340.600

I would also scan 138-144 and see if they're active...I've heard them before for A/G comms with airdrops.

STING 41 x2 in the MOAs with BLUE ASH on 240.350; airtac 139.625. Sounds like they're going to be doing air-to-ground work.
