OTIS 18 (KC-130J, 166382) is off to support the USMC exercises over KY. Cleared to IIU 058/30 and off the deck at 0002Z. AR was on 136.150 several nights ago...might be that frequency or one close to it.

No orbits shown on the SUA website.

Active currently (1300 - all times local):

AR-315W 1215-1345
BRUSH CREEK MOA 1245-1415
BUCKEYE EAST ATCAA 1245-1415
BUCKEYE EAST TMOA 1245-1415
BUCKEYE WEST ATCAA 1245-1415
BUCKEYE WEST TMOA 1245-1415
CHARLIE A ATCAA 1245-1415

I'm in class now, but I was monitoring at the top of the hour; NUKE and CHAIN flights were active in Buckeye/Brush Creek. NUKE airtac on V17 141.825, CHAIN on V15 141.700. The current Blue Air group should be with Blue Ash on 240.350, though I did catch brief comms on the secondary 283.800. Listen for SOF on V10 143.000 as well.

Both flights were using Link 16 (I heard them reference "timber" several times), so that may explain the JSTARS.

I've been hearing activity on 314.400 for the past hour or so - just got "direct Selfridge," so probably MI ANG A-10s. Does anyone know the frequency? Seems like tactical, but I can't confirm.

Also picked traffic up on 225.700 OH ANG Ops.

314.400 Is A/A TAC for Selfridge A-10 (I almost wrote F-16's). DEMON 11 flt uses it. YALTA 31 flt uses 349.400 for A/A TAC. I haven't found TEJAS 21 flts A/A TAC UHF freq yet.

Correct on TEAM 01 but CLAW 55 was a C-17A (6TH AS/305th AMW). Both departed Nashville in the am after dropping their pax for the Airlift/Tanker Association Conference.

YALTAS were here using that this week - confusing at first since that freq is also used as the 445th AW CP (Buckeye Control). Haven't heard TEJAS recently, though. Can anyone confirm the "YODER" (?) callsign used by the 180th FW? They were using it tonight in Buckeye (A/A on 139.625).

Dutch activity tonight:

NUKE 91 FLIGHT (93: J-065, 91: J-510, 92: J-209) in Buckeye
DAY A/D U4 269.275 > ZID U9 290.500 > ZID U8 316.125 > AR (unk) 343.800
AR with TAZZ 73 (unid), after refueling 73 cleared the airspace to the Charlie shelf to the east
A/A was on V16 143.550 initially, then switched to V17 141.825 after leaving the AR track
ACM on U8 316.125 and V17 141.825

I'm sure it was. It all picks back up tomorrow. You can get a lot of callsigns by just monitoring 322.9 (MUSIC CP). Should start early in the morning and last all day with planes coming back to pick up their passengers.

YODER is the 180th out of Toledo. They started using this callsign 08-16-09. On 08-18-09 YODER 11 was talking to Cleve.C. on 269.525. Yoder 11, they gave us a new call sign. It could be related to that, 09:41am.

That makes sense - the first time I heard it I wondered if I was mistaking it for YALTA, but then caught them talking about returning to Toledo.

Just out of curiousity, do you ever pick up the Springfield-based Vipers flying in northern Ohio and Michigan? About a week ago I listened to SABER 11 x2 heading that way and thought they requested direct SBM. Also heard flight lead tell his wingman to contact Northern Lights, and later picked them up chatting about being authorized supersonic (meaning they must have been near the Great Lakes).

The Springfield F-16's come up this way once in awhile, but not very often. Did get to hear them a lot when they spent a couple weeks at Alpena. They get even more rare around here during the cold months. I've been back to work for awhile now, & don't get to monitor to much now.

Very well could have been, David. The 187th FW did a flyby of the Titans/Bills game today and from recent times the Vipers usually use VHF for ATC and UHF for a/a. But just an FYI the BAMA boys are now the 100th FS. They changed it to honor the Tuskeegee Airman unit.
