For the Kentucky milair listeners: We have an abundance of military air refueling routes in the state, all of which can be heard from a good distance away. These refuelings usually take place in the FL250-310 range so even with a handheld with a rubber duck you can usually hear them over a good chunk of the state. Activity varies on these routes, so just be patient. Here is a list of the published AR routes and frequencies in our area:
AR111 348.9pri 319.7sec northern Arkansas - south central KY
AR203 238.9pri 319.7sec s/w TN - central KY
AR315 343.25pri 236.65sec n/w KY - central KY - n/e KY
AR455 336.1pri 291.1sec southern IN - northern KY - southern OH
All modes are AM
Also check out R/R under the state listing for Kentucky under Military for additional Air Route Traffic Control frequencies associated with these routes.
