To my knowledge, towns and fire depts weren't offered anything. (Unless it was recently). We were told "if you guys want to join the system, you have to buy your own radios"....
which is why there is hardly any users on this system since it was built.
I counted only 11 police depts currently on the system out of the 45 possibles.

Anyone know if the Monmouth County system is tied into the NJICS for roaming purposes? I don't just mean a patch to StateCom or something but say a detective goes out of county to follow up... is his radio useless and he has to use his cell phone?

Also, I wonder if the County would ever consider letting non-dispatched towns buy into the system on a per radio basis or something so that towns that don't want to make the move to County Dispatch could still utilize it for InterOp and coverage purposes. I believe that's how Burlington County began and eventually all towns moved to the County Dispatch center since they already had the radios in place and the County just "flipped the switch" to monitor.

I believe all of the newer 700/800 P25 public safety systems in Jersey can roam onto the NJICS. I know this is mostly true with the county systems but not sure about the local systems.

Running Unitrunker on South Simulcast
Seeing some new TG ID's coming up..

2502 - Maybe related to county parks system?
Quite a few joins to it.

Seeing 9001 popping up...
I'll see if I get anything further. Keep listening and Unitrunking this system!

Castor, 286 and everybody else- I'm running a RS 668 on the system and see the same effect. It stops on the EMS TG'S (and others) but no audio. Doesn't happen all the time, but enough to be a problem. Not just you guys & Uniden radios. Just FYI.

Anyone have a LAN update as far as the .."Long Branch" portion of the LAN Response channel? Is Long Branch FD getting on? I thought I heard some of their units testing/their ID's on the TRS.

I don't see it happening anytime soon.

IMO, the current channel leaves some to be desired but it's better than what was there. I have not actively responded to alot of calls lately so I can't really tell you.

My additional thought's are, if LBFD goes here, the channel may become somewhat overcrowded with the combined 3 dept. operation's.

The old LBPD/LBFD frequency was problematic from the beginning - .790.

LBFD abandon's 790 when PD went to TRS. FD now operates on the other PD channel.

Lately, There has been more and more denied transmissions on the county TRS (im assuming due to more and more users). Putting LBFD on there would definitely test the system. IMO, the system needs to be built out more in order to put FD onto it.

You also need to train people on whats an appropriate use of the channel.......IE not lunch orders or some of the other junk i hear APFD talking about while Neptune has a active call.

was this on LAN ?. because i have to say, i don't hear most anything out of the ordinary there.

also - if long branch declines going to LAN, it will have to be renamed AN . just a thought.
