This is the point where I remind everyone that submissions to the database need to be confirmed, not based on guesses or speculation. Thanks.

Not sure what you heard but Middletown is no where near moving to the 700 yet. The capital budget hasn't even been approved yet for new radios. There are also other factors involved before they can migrate over. Probably at least a year out.

I mean observing that unit number that comes back to Middletown (31). Spoke to a friend who is in the county and said that they we're looking at completely going once they have the funds

I just remembered. Our fieldcom unit has two 700 Tait radios that are operational on the system. Maybe thats what you saw.

The fieldcom no longer does that Sunday tone test. It was stopped a few months ago.

NWS Earle FD operates on their own on-base TRS. Fire definitely has access to the county TRS for M/A purposes however. County doesn’t dispatch routinely for NWSE and their main dispatch facility, I believe, is out of NS Norfolk.

Well yeah, what's weird is the county seems to be picking and choosing which non county dispatch agencys there letting on the TRS....

I would have to guess that the U.S. Navy is in a whole different category than a small municipality who chooses not to go over to MCSO. USN has no choice, but to stay under USN dispatch and regulations. Similar to how D74 used MCSO services, I'm assuming pro bono.

When you own/operate something you get to pick and choose.

Personally, I think MCSO would have been better off following the BurlCo plan and allowing outside agencies to pay per subscriber unit for system access just like NJICS does or the Union Co plan where they partnered with the state and became a node of the NJICS but maintain control over in county users.

Unfortunately, they went the other way.

TGID 3003 Keyport Police now has Union Beach 65###, safe to say I believe the migration has started for UB.

A new site is being planned for the North simulcast cell. The location is in Middletown Township. This is about 2 miles South of all the towers at Telegraph Hill.
