I bought a bc296d four months ago. I'm able to pickup the Eastern Wayne County system with the Grosse Pointes, but I'm having trouble picking up agencies on the MPSCS System. Could anyone tell me what trunk type I should enter on my bc296d scanner to pick up MPSCS? Any other suggestions to pickup MPSCS System. agencies would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Dan.

Are you trying to receive Detroit on Tower 701? If so it's a problem everyone is having. Try some other towers on the MPSCS system near you. The setting should be Mot Type2APCO25/800mhz.

I'm in Harper Woods and I can pick up the Mt. Clemens and Richmond towers most of the time with a Pro96.

Mt. Clemens CC - 868.90000
Richmond CC - 868.95000

No I was not trying to pick up Detroit. I just figured out what I did wrong. I only entered the control channel for Mount Clemens, instead of also entering the other five frequencies. It appears all the digital trunking around Metro Detroit is a type 2/p25 800, which would be trunking option 1 for the bc296d. Thanks for responding to my question.

He didn't say where he was at but was asking the trunk settings for a BC296D which should be the same as a BC796D. You should be able to get Romeo and Northville also - I can get them from Fraser on both my PRO96 and BC796D, but I can't get the Groose Pointe system very well.

It sounds like you are programing by hand - its much easier with software. I thought the BC296D would do CC only like the BC796D does.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind about Romeo and Northville. I was having trouble with Grosse Pointe's also. What I did today was download the card updates from Uniden's website. You should try it on your BC796D. The reception quality is much better than before.

I don't know why but I'm getting a weak signal from GPF, only 7 miles away.

Are you getting a weak signal in general? Or is it a clear signal that keeps cutting in and out and jumping to different frequencies? That was my problem, the cutting in and out until downloading the Uniden update. Now I'm getting a clear signal about 6 miles away from GPF.

I don't remember exactly I'd have to reprogram my scanner and see. it's been awhile.
