Yaesu: MRSEMR display error on Yaesu VX-6

Hi folks - my VX-6 displays MRSEMR when I am in the 70 cm band, no matter what the frequency. Anyone had this problem and does anyone have a fix besides a factory reset? I'd rather not wipe my channels. I've tried taking the battery out, turning on and off, fully charged batt, etc.

I flipped through the VX-6 manual which is pretty good about showing you the various displays you'll see. This item on page 49 was as close as I could find.


Have you tried doing a full reset on the radio get back to square one?

Thanks for looking it up! I'm trying to avoid the reset so I don't have to reprogram channels. One of the things I just tried was to hold down the EMG button (the one to the left of the number 4 button), which activated a very loud alarm, so, as not to wake up the entire house, I instinctively popped out the battery (probably could have just held the same button down again). Then when I put the battery back in, the screen was cleared of that message and it's all fixed. Weird, huh? I tried battery removal before, but it didn't work. Thanks again! Much appreciated! 73 OM!
