• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

I'm trying to monitor a multi site P25 system (SÉRAM). Basically I want the G4 to connect to the underground site (site 15) when I'm in the subway (when there's no connection to the other site, site 1).
I programmed the CC (of the 2 sites) into one P25 trunking system list, but I can only monitor site 1.
Site 1 NAC is CF1 and site 15 NAC is CFF.

Would the NAC difference be the problem to why I can't connect to site 15?

The problem isn't the NAC since when you set up the system in the PPS you use CFF (not the site NAC). The bigger problem may be the signal strength. If the signal strength doesn't drop enough in the underground the G4 will stay locked onto the lower frequency (Site 1). One solution is program the system twice, using the CFF NAC in both but only have site 1 in one system and site 15 in the other and have them on two different knobs. Of course, if the signal does drop enough, the issue might be you used the site NAC and not the system NAC of CFF.

Well the signal does drop enough to the point that the G4 goes into CC hunting.

Would the issue be that I defined the Site ID to be 1 and the G4 disregards the site 15 freqs since he decodes site 15 instead of site 1 (when CC hunting)?

I posted pictures of the programming.

You don't have Site 15 listed in the site list above, you only have site 1. Add (NEW) site RFSS 1 Site ID F. right now it is only looking for site ID 1.
