Check out my RTL SDR pole i have in my office at work to listen to Mississippi MSWIN while im at work. I found a pole at home I had in some amazon portable photo studio in a bag that held a light. I have two omni antennas and one yagi antenna on this pole along with 2 RTL SDR dongles. I have a 12v fan with a 12 volt LED dimmer switch to control the fan speed. I do not have the yagi in use at the moment but will when my 3rd dongle arrives.

this is something i threw together in 5 minutes so dont hit me to bad with any "Don't do this or Don't do that" Had most of the components laying around the office not being used. It works great by the way! any suggestions or imporvements are welcome. any negation or mean comments will just be laughed at haha.

Tell me what ya think friends.

Nice idea. With everything connected to the pole, that would make a nice portable set up. Easy set up and tear down.

What model yagi is that?

I’m not at the office right now but it’s a cell booster Yagi 698-2700MHz. Something we had laying around. It works pretty good! The 2 Omni antennas are cell booster antennas also. They work just as good as any other Omni I’ve ever used.

So the center of that is like 1.7ghz. How well does it pull in distant 7/00 freqs?
It does pretty good listening to 700MHz public safety P25 traffic. I’ll say this, it does well enough I’m not buying another Yagi. I’m listening to a site that’s 18.6 miles away as the crow flies here in the flat MS delta, inside of a steel building in my office. Pretty good if you ask me.

added a couple of cheap chinese pre amps to my pole setup. seems that i gert around a 10db boost by using the aliexpress pre amps. oh I cut the zip tie tails LOL. I forgot to cut them before the other pictures. tails are one of my pet peeves. a big no no for me

Nice setup!

BTY, I'm sure OSHA won't mind the work place fan without a fan guard, ( smirk :) )

I like that tripod. I am looking for something like that. Where to buy?
